Re: Higher Human Biology 2012 : How did it go ?I wrote my answers on the piece of paper we got for working
Ahh. Okay.
I don't know if i just got a brain freeze, but in the multiple choice questions there was one about the production of sperm over a certain amount of time. It was supposed to be easy where you just read off the graph but i just couldn't see how it was any of the four answers given.. i think i put 75.5 down though in the end. -

Yeah me to! A mark at last, did you do it like on the muscle?

Re: Higher Human Biology 2012 : How did it go ?
That's the same as me! The picture of the heart totally threw me, was expecting to see arteries and other valves! I put tricuspid too and now realise it should have been bi - grr! I also went for same essay questions as most, neurotransmitters and temperature. Didn't write anything about sympatheic/para in it though.

Re: Higher Human Biology 2012 : How did it go ?It was pretty weird, i put tongue and eyebrows as well for like frowning haha
Yeah, so you put all four then? ..
I did.
Eyes- eye contact, winking etc
Hands - waving, thumbs up, clenching a fist etc
tongue - sticking tongue out is cheeky and licking lips in .. i don't know.. seductive? hhaha
and the other one for frowning
Ahh, well one right. The other 129 i'm not so sure about -
Re: Higher Human Biology 2012 : How did it go ?im not sure but really i dont think so..you might even lose your coherence mark..but im not sure. you could have wrote about the bodys metabolic rate and how it can also change to generate more or less heat < which i forgot to do..(Original post by denvir)
Thanks claire, could you though? Maybe something likethe parasympathetic increases bloodflow to skin and sympathetic to heart? -
Re: Higher Human Biology 2012 : How did it go ?(Original post by Susan1983)
Ah I forgot about shivering but wrote about babies and elderly and how they can't control their mechanisms leading to hypothermia :/ not sure if it was relevant though!
I wrote about hypothermia too!
I wasn't sure if it was right but then people were saying it was so thats good
-
Re: Higher Human Biology 2012 : How did it go ?I wrote about hypothermia too, but I'm not sure if I actually linked it to the fact that it can be cause by the lack of involuntary response, so I reckon I'll have lost my coherence mark.(Original post by Rachirox1)

What did you guys put for the wonky gene? Like, how it was altered? My mind went totally blank, and I couldn't think what a gene actually was :/ haha
And for the mcq, where you had to calculate the size of the membrane, and the other calculation for the sperm count? I was sat there for about 10 minutes counting up the boxes getting absolutely nowhere -
Re: Higher Human Biology 2012 : How did it go ?i mentioned them....talked about sweating :P(Original post by denvir)
I thought it went OK, then i looked at this....
If anybody has a paper/answers please put them up it would be mich appreciated.
And with regards to essay 2B did anybody mention parasympathetic and sympathetic nereves? Or again just me? -
Re: Higher Human Biology 2012 : How did it go ?its fine 2b was temperature(Original post by denvir)

Re: Higher Human Biology 2012 : How did it go ?what do you mean subheadings?....(Original post by alaba)

Re: Higher Human Biology 2012 : How did it go ?it is maturation(Original post by katoes)
I can only remember one in particular about what kind of learning occurs when behaviour follows certain steps? I think it was the boy's development of walking. I thought it was shaping but that had already come up in the multiple choice -
Re: Higher Human Biology 2012 : How did it go ?after the bit about maturation does anybody know what they wrote as to why the child couldnt walk?
It wasn't why couldn't he walk, it was why didn't the younger boy start walking at the same age his elder brother had, and that was due to enviromental factors and different genetic inheritenceLast edited by LiveToSki; 23-05-2012 at 21:32.
