I'm panicking, can't grasp it. How did you revise? Questions from the book? -
Re: AQA MM1B(24/05/2012) official thread:)
I think the projectiles question must be come up in this question, and maybe somethings new....As I have done the 2012 MM1B mock exam.
The paper was not difficult, but have some new question.Hopefully this paper won't be so difficult

Re: AQA MM1B(24/05/2012) official thread:)find some this type of pp question to do,after that you must get it(Original post by JoeUtd)
Only bit I'm confident at is the easy part - suvats. Still manage to get sin and cos mixed up. It's usually the way questions are worded that catches me out
as I remember jan10 and jun 11 should have...
not sure~ -
Re: AQA MM1B(24/05/2012) official thread:)Have you got the the Jan 12 paper and markscheme?(Original post by kenau)

Re: AQA MM1B(24/05/2012) official thread:)sin=opposite/hypotenuse and cos=adjacent/hypotenuse(Original post by dannyr)
So how do you differentiante between sin and cos? I always get mixed up too and It'd bound to lose me a few marks.
Thanks. -

Re: AQA MM1B(24/05/2012) official thread:)
Anyone know how to go about answering this:
A car of mass 1000kg, skids for 20m and then hits a car of mass 1200kg that is moving at 10ms in the same direction. After the collision, both cars move together with a speed of 12ms. The coefficient of friction between the tyres and the road for the first car is 0.8. Assumer that all the motion takes place on a horizontal surface.
(a) Find the speed of the first car, just before the collision.
(b) Find the speed of the first car when it begins to skid.
I can do (a) fine but can't get enough suvat components for (b).
Edit: nvm got it now. If anyones interested:
The resultant force before the crash is the friction (a force of -7840N) so -7840N=1000a. a=-7.84, v=14.4ms, s=20, u=? and now you can use suvats to get u as 22.8.Last edited by Am174a; 23-05-2012 at 16:57.
Good luck everyone
