A simple case of cheating - but what would you have done?
Basically this week I was in an exam and the person sitting next to me was wearing a wireless earpiece (I know cause I have a similar one) and throughout the whole exam was reading the question to the person at the other end of the earpiece whilst the person then gave back answer. I didn't realise they were cheating until 20 minutes into the paper when I remembered that I had heard the answer come from the person's ear (at a later question) weird right? Then I look over to the person and I confirm it - they're CHEATING IN THE MIDDLE OF AN EXAM!!!.
Anyway it was just me who had some suspicions but the invigilator at my college are really lazy they don't even try and check for phones.
Anyway this has been eating at me all week, a lot of people said I should have told - but no one likes a grass, so I’m asking what would you have done?
Would you have told or would you have just complained about it on student room like me
. Btw it was really loud to the point where even I could hear the answer so it was just pure laziness on the invigilators' parts

Re: A simple case of cheating - but what would you have done?My school was pro-snitching, but not exactly for exam cheats.(Original post by Dont Tread On Me)
Snitches get stitches
There was once a peer mentoring scheme in my school as in many others, pupils in higher years having weekly/less frequent meetings with an assigned newcomer in year 7. They were all told that if abuse was disclosed/suspected by their mentees they wer REQUIRED to report it! -
Re: A simple case of cheating - but what would you have done?
Nobody likes a grass. End of. If the guy got didn't get caught then he broke the rules and got away with it, fair play to him. That your invigilators are too lazy to spot even an ear piece says a lot, and personally I think he deserved to get away with it purely for that.
Either it'll come back to bite him in the arse at some point in his life, or it won't. Either way, in the grand scheme of things it makes little difference. Going back to my original point; nobody likes a grass. -
Re: A simple case of cheating - but what would you have done?
stop listening to these retards saying nobody likes a grass.
Who is he? Do you like him/her? would that person tell on you?
The only problem is its going to be hard to prove it and they might cancel your exam too? because you were hearing the answers -

What exam was this in? -
Re: A simple case of cheating - but what would you have done?
Personally, I think you should leave it because it could affect your exam too (you heard the answers - you also 'cheated'?)
But I'm curious - was he actually talking aloud? I didn't know you were allowed to speak in any exam.. except for speaking exams? -
Re: A simple case of cheating - but what would you have done?
If you could hear the answers too then there's a chance you'd get your exam cancelled by telling them, especially since you didn't report it at the time so it seems as though you didn't tell an invigilator because you were listening to the answers for yourself. And you don't really have any proof of it so just leave it.

Re: A simple case of cheating - but what would you have done?
tbh its really unfair that he is using a wireless devise...some centres are really strict and thats just annoyed me like hell because he/she didnt even need to revise??
personally i think you should definitely tell because its unfair on those people who worked hard and did badly....this person did no shiz and is gonna do well...
its because of these peole that the grade bounderies go high...
you should definitely tell...actually begging you lol -

Seeing as you didn't say at the time and your proof is that you were able to hear the answers too, they would most likely penalise you too. Better not to say anything about it now. Although I think people shouldn't get away with cheating, no matter if "no one likes a grass", if you are in an exam and they do again you could tell an inviligator that you can hear something like someones ipod on and it is distracting so they then go hunt it for themselves.
