Dissertation Idea for Drug Use or Psychological Effects of Drugs on Behaviour ??!!
Hey guys! I'm in my second year at university and will begin my third year this September 2012 where I will be undertaking a research project/third year dissertation.

I am a Psychology student and I'm quite interested in the psychological effects of drug use (Cannabis OR Ecstasy) upon human behaviour and I'm going to meet with a potential supervisor to discuss ideas further however i am a little stuck for ideas and I'm just wondering whether anyone who is knowledgeable within the field of Psychology/Psychopharmacology/Pharmacology would kindly offer some potential ideas?

I'm looking for something that is original, publishable and also something that will stand out as well as realistic because I do want to be a little bit creative yet something that I can actually research on realistically and of course in line with ethical priciples. I would really appreciate very much as I research drug use and it comes up with stuff like cognitive deficits, etc which we all know cannabis or ecstasy can lead to cognitive malfunctions but I'm looking for ideas that are a little bit beyond that and something original?

    Thanks in advance!

How about a comparison on the psychological effects of alcohol on behaviour?

A neat idea might be to study how receptive behavioural effects are based on the cultural intake of such drugs. Example, what kind of people usually smoke cannabis? Are these people more receptive to such malfunctions in later life?
How would this compare to the same audience(?) as alcohol users?

How would the long term effects differ if the general population were to be exposed to such drugs and would it be worse or better?

I know this is more sociology - so sorry I couldn't be of much help. But I just think that'd make for an interesting paper.
