Re: Summer Transfer Rumour ThreadSo Manchester United's feeder club finished above you in the league? Ouch.(Original post by Jim-Jam)
Chelsea. They're releasing players like it's going out of fashion and they'll use their champions of Europe to cover up their 6th place finish.
I reckon that Baines will definitely go to United. Everton are just their feeder club after all. They need a right back though truth be told. -
Re: Summer Transfer Rumour ThreadYeah, they also won a cup, got to a final, had 3 Wembley appearances and are in Europe next year.(Original post by Solid_Snake7)

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour ThreadIt isnt about taking time or choosing the biggest paycheck at all, nothing about what Jim said even hinted at that(Original post by JB20)
Silly.
If you had the choice of the three top clubs to play for next season wouldn't you take your time? Very clever what hes doing. He's making sure he chooses the right career move and fair play to his agent. Obviously mongs like you don't like it when a player goes to the team who pays most.
What he is rightly annoyed about is:
- 'Where shall i go?' Nike advert, or whatever that **** was.
- Thinking he has the right to announce it himself.
- Wanting 200k per week.
etc.
The guy is a prick, the media hyped it up and all, but still he has shown himself to be an ass.
There is a reason even United and Chelsea fans aren't that excited about him wherever he goes, not nearly as excited as they would be if we looked purely at his ability -
Re: Summer Transfer Rumour ThreadThey also spent about 100m less than you did, just saying.(Original post by Jim-Jam)
Yeah, they also won a cup, got to a final, had 3 Wembley appearances and are in Europe next year.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread
Eden Hazard on Liverpool (2010): "I've heard about interest from them & its nice to be linked with the best teams in the world."
Eden Hazard (2011): "My dream is to play for Arsenal or Real Madrid."
Eden Hazard (2011): "Inter & AC made me offers. Every league has its merits, all the big clubs make me dream."
Eden Hazard (2012): "Maybe I'll join Tottenham, they are a great English club with very good players."
Eden Hazard (2012): "Spain is perhaps more my style of game but if I move it must be to either Barcelona or Real Madrid."
Eden Hazard (2012): "Arsenal will always be an option, they have Thomas [Vermaelen] there and they play wonderful style of Football."
Eden Hazard (2012): "The two Manchester clubs are great, I won't which colour I prefer though."
Eden Hazard (2012): "I will play in England next year."
Eden Hazard (2012): "Chelsea winning the Champions League has made things interesting."
Eden Hazard (2012): "It will either United, City or Chelsea."
Eden Hazard (2012): "I don't know I'll join."
What kind of unproven player demands a £40 million transfer, 200,000 a week and the number 10 shirt? That's all I'm saying, just an attention whore and a dickhead. Don't care anymore! -
Re: Summer Transfer Rumour ThreadYou're right, after spending 10x as much on players as Manchester United's 'feeder club' you did manage to win the least prestigious cup available to an English club. Fact is they beat you for consistency over a season against the odds, you can't take that away from them just cos' you managed to win a single knockout competition. And they were thoroughly outplaying you in the semi before Distin's little turn. Btw my original post was only made because you decided to be so derisive towards Everton who, frankly, have done a lot more than you with a lot less resources in the league this season.(Original post by Jim-Jam)
Yeah, they also won a cup, got to a final, had 3 Wembley appearances and are in Europe next year.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour ThreadJust look at this from yesterday:(Original post by Chicharito14)
Are you sure?
The past two seasons Evra has been very suspect and shaky whilst defending.
Baines is far superior going forward, and if Utd do buy Baines, hopefully Evra will get his act together and stop fannying around on the pitch!

I think Baines would be an improvement. -

- He is English so gets the normal 'omg English player' treatment
- Baines is over-hyped because of his attacking ability, which can very much be put down to the help he gets with Evertons height.
- Defensive mistakes are a lot more recognized in higher up teams. The same reason people think De Gea makes loads of mistakes but in fact has the best save percentage in the league etc.
- Baines would cost too much for a back-up player, and isnt good enough defensively to replace Evra.
Unless we can get Baines for cheaper than he supposedly would go for, i dont want him. -
Re: Summer Transfer Rumour ThreadUnproven in one of the top leagues i think he means. Plenty of players shine in the weaker leagues and dont when they make the big move.(Original post by checkolad)
I don't think you can call him unproven. -
Rumoured football transfer thread
Fellow footy fans,
we are now in the summer tranfer window and I thought i'd keep a thread to keep track of all the rumours going on.
Hazard was a done deal yesterday for 32m to chelsea. And another man (or should i say superhero) who would seem to be on his way is Hulk, personal terms have been agreed and the two clubs are finding a transfer fee.
Kagawa to United seems a done deal for just above 18m. And Nick Powell for 4m seems to be almost done aswell.
Arsenal are close to signing Giroud from Montpellier for a supposed 8m + chamakh deal. And they are also interested in midfielders De jong, Biglia and M'vila to bolster his midfield.
Man city are trying to get Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva from Milan for about 70m combined but they are unlikely to get them as Milan hope to keep their best players.
Newcastle are interested in Lille full-back Mathieu Debuchy. And Reading, Southampton and West Ham are on alert as Yakubu, 29, vows to leave Blackburn.
Also Real Madrid are very close to signing Lucas from Sao paulo in a deal worth 40m.

Re: Rumoured football transfer threadWith Newcastle's recent transfer record, anyone who gains their interest should be gaining the interest of a lot of other teams... Here's hoping he comes to Newcastle and turns out as well as all the other French players(Original post by SneakyDoug)

Re: Rumoured football transfer threadDebuchy isnt actually an unknown player, he's just come off the back of an amazing season with Lille and is likely to play a major role in the Euro's with France, scoring for them in their last friendly. Its more than likely other teams would be interested in him if he's available but if Newcastle do get him it would certainly be a superb signing.(Original post by FrogInABog)
