It had a little dot on the 4 by the way

a recurring decimal means the numbers that go on are all the same eg. 2.555555 or 3.17777777

the answer you got was irrational not recurring, so you had to reound to and appropriate degree, 2.43, i dont know what that dot was?

i canceled out the anomoly , i already did a past paper which had exact same question, i forgot what i got but i cancelled out the 50 something. has anyone got the unofficial mark scheme?????

i think a reasonable score would be 36

for the thing into solid i put through electrolysis :s is that right?
so, for the one on the mean, did you need to cancel out the 51.5 or w/e?

That's really annoying because i didn't read the number properly and i was an A* :|
To those who keep on demanding a mark scheme, why not make one yourself?

Some of the questions I can remember:

1a) Why do chloride ions move to the positive electrode:
- They are negatively charged/electrostatic force of attraction.
1b) What ion causes the solution to be alkaline?
- Hydroxide
1c) Draw a covalent bond for HCl
WATER_213166_3_En_18_Fig2_HTML.jpg
1d) What ion causes a drop in pH
- Hydrogen ions.

If someone could kindly post the questions, I will help contribute to an unofficial mark scheme.

do you think i'll get the full marks for 2.44, as there will probably be a range?

There wont be a range, (thats usually just for graphs), but there may be a mark for ecf, (if your error was carried forward to the answer, e.g. rounding), so u might get the mark it depends on the mark scheme haha different each year

Won't there be a range as is it an irrational number?

I dunno 100%, but i THINK there wont be, not really sure tho lol

The question based on Equlibrium.... the first i put exothermic, then there was questions about particles, then was a question how increasing pressure increases yield.... i put favours endothermic reaction
This exam was ok thought it was better than I was expecting :-)

i'm gonna crash and burn in physics

ill probably be asked to be moved to foundation as i was only meant to be doing higher for chem and biology
i think a lot of questions have been asked about crystallization/evaporation, but i think both would be fine-- in paper from jan 2011 it says

crystallization
or
evaporation / heating / boiling /
cooling when it refers to separating magnesium sulfate from solution so i think both answers would be accepted
accept detailed answers such as:
evaporate to half volume and then
allow the solution to crystallise.
ignore any references to filter
OMG I think I could have failed.. Hope the grade boundaries are low :'( I found it ok i guess, but there were little things i missed out a 3 mark question on this mass thing.. and for that 'two experimental errors' thing.. i put like
-Faulty/incorrect equipment. :s I don't know tbh.:frown::mad:
