Re: AQA GCSE Chemistry Unit 2 24 May 2012You should get a mark because both responses are the same thing.(Original post by shippers123)
what im confused now? the teacher said it would be fine? so i wont get a mark now for saying "Hydroxide or OH-?"
If you write two different responses that do not have the same effect such as "Hydroxide or Hydrogen" = 0 marks.
"Hydroxide or OH-" = 1 mark -
Re: AQA GCSE Chemistry Unit 2 24 May 2012i hope they give us the mark! how are they on spelling? like i know this is a chemistry thread, but i recently just sat my B2 exam and we had a question " which organ monitors the blood sugar level" so easy, its obviously the pancreas, but i spelt it pancrease-_- don't know why, it was a (1) also? what do you think they'd do about that error?(Original post by Graham981)

I think they allow spelling errors sometimes, coz
On the January 2012 Mark Scheme they say 'allow phonetic spelling'. So you know.
But obviously you will definitely lose marks if you do spelling mistakes in the 6 marks questions, if you're doing the new spec.

Re: AQA GCSE Chemistry Unit 2 24 May 2012YAY I'm quite happy with that, even if the grade boundaries are a little lower, I'd be extremely happy with an A(Original post by khalidpatel)
I think i got 25-28 as well. I think its a strong B so like 75 UMS above

Re: AQA GCSE Chemistry Unit 2 24 May 2012well not all triple classes(Original post by Joeldamole)
Yeah, people are talking about other C2 exams that were of the same standard, yet 38 was an A*... but these exams were sat by the triple science classes... so the grade boundaries will be harsher as they are better at science (generally)

Re: AQA GCSE Chemistry Unit 2 24 May 2012Sorry, wrong chemistry paper, I did the new specification, so there are more marks in it(Original post by nancyfitzsimons)

Re: AQA GCSE Chemistry Unit 2 24 May 2012oh well i got good marks anyway(Original post by kILLERm)
actually, if it asked 'which ions make the solution alkaline/give the solution a pH of 1' then I believe you may get the marks for writing hydrogen and hydroxide because it already told u that they were ions.
