Pfft talk about being a genius! The highest I've ever had in a French listening was 13. Although, last year I was da bomb (truly off da hook) getting 20/20 once in Spanish :awesome: Yeah, that's not happening with Spanish this year...

God science! I don't think I could've ever coped! I can do languages or essay subjects no problem, but when it comes to science I'm a total and utter failure. Honestly, no joke: 3 in standard grade maths and physics, fail at crash higher human biology. And this year I re-sat Int 2 Maths alongside my advanced highers/highers and I think I might have failed it... :troll:
I hated credit listening too, just could not understand the person talking! haha.

You're the opposite of me completely! I love sciency things, cannot do english to save myself, don't know how I manage french! But yeah my dad used to be a maths teacher so i suppose it's in the genes!

You are sooo lucky! I have about 4 days, and I am doing things on each day so I don't get to just sit and relax!

it looks like I got between 18-20/20 on the reading! I had two slightly different things (I said she was the manager of her department because my dictionary told me that's what it meant aha) and it looks like I got 9/10 for translation too I'm hoping for about 18 on the listening then a 9/12 and a 6 on my writings

awh I just love French! it's the first exam that has made me feel really positive

I convinced myself (and everyone else) that they would completely change the format of the writing this year because they'd altered every other exam, felt like such an eejit when I saw the essays!

    Answers to comprehension part:
1a Wake up early to fight traffic.
    Packed into subway.
1b Their partner is often tired as well after a similar long day
1c She had many responsibilities and it was well paid

2a She had had enough of promoting soaps.
    Wanted another meaning to life.
2b It was exactly what she was looking for/Knew she could be very useful.
2c Celebrate their birthday by taking them to show.
When they feel sad, provide them with smiles and comfort.

3a Low point- Often confronted with sickness and pain
High point- You know you can always give them hopes and dreams.
3b She took children who wanted to see Father Christmas to Lapland
She took a boy who loved dolphins to Florida
A little girl got to go galloping on a horse with her brothers and sisters in Provence.
3c They are able to forget about their sickness during their time away.
It often gives the child strength to fight the illness and accept their treatments.

4a She can devote time to her two girls and do an activity she is passionate about.
4b There are sometimes difficult moments for the volunteers
4c (Not sure about this one) They ask " why do you not get paid for what you do?". She says it is not about the salary. It is about the smiles on the children's faces.
This was exactly what i said! Thought it was quite a fair paper compared to some of the past papers I've done!

does anyone actually have the french section of the translation?

But even then, it sounds plain dodgy though. I've never said I have many passions nor I have many loves... Maybe the plural form was connected to the children that came afterwards?
But it's talking about the children being realistic about what they choose to do - singular would infer they all want to do the same thing.

the plural/ singular thing relates to "as a general rule all the children have the same hopes and dreams" not the volunteers having the same hopes and dreams as the children!

Does anyone remember their listening answers, I could really use the comparison, I am worrying that I am on the A/B border and might have missed too many marks.
