I need a hobby.
Now my uni course has finished, I'm at a bit of a loss over what to do with myself. I can't really concentrate on reading a book lately. I either kill loads of hours on the internet, talking on forums like these or I'm watching the TV. I used to enjoy writing but I find my interest in it dying out and I don't even think I'm that great at it anyway. And I can't really think of any other talents that I have.
Anyone else feeling a bit lost? I don't know what to do. What hobbies do you have? -
Re: I need a hobby.
I like photography. It gets you out of the house without making you do sport or even anything particularly active, you can spend years learning it and I'm not entirely convinced you'll ever know it all, you can build up grand plans around it like holidays, you get to collect lots of really nifty equipment, plus you get something to show for it at the end (ie, the lovely photographs you take.)

Edit: Sorry just saw your sig, what are you going to be doing?
On topic: OP, I would suggest you look into something you're interested in, or book a holiday, failing that play video games?Last edited by Bulbasaur; 24-05-2012 at 16:33. -

Re: I need a hobby.
Running or hiking -- good for you and free. Also lovely when the weather is good like it has been recently.
Biking -- great exercise and quite addictive when you get into it.
Going to the gym.
Taking up an instrument. There are plenty of free resources to teach yourself these days, guitar and piano/keyboard being the most accessible and versatile (IMO).
Doing an evening course in something you like.
Volunteering in an area you are interested in. I walk dogs at the RSPCA when I get the chance.
Making food stuff. I love making cakes, brownies, cookies etc and of course nice meals (curries, Mexican stuff, etc.). Satisfying when shared with others.
Socializing. Not really a hobby as such, but arranging to meet friends/family members to go to the cinema, get a meal, coffee, etc., is better than sitting on your laptop/in front of the TV all day.
My main hobbies besides the usual TV & Internet are drawing and painting, playing piano, gaming, walking and my pets. -
Re: I need a hobby. That's only up in North Wales mate! If you're in Brum, that's a couple of hours drive isn't it? Just get out there and do it! I promise you, you won't regret it, it really is more awesome than it looks :'D(Original post by silverbolt)
