    Yeah, I liked the Chemistry exam. Got stuck on the ions and neutralisation q. I put that she used potassium oxide + nitric acid -> potassium nitrate. But, the ions question threw me. I put something along the lines of hydroxile ions (our Chemistry teacher insisted on saying that ionic bonding was not until C4)..

    Then the other ions question threw me too, with regards to the sodium chloride electrolysis thing. Hm, I don't really know much about ionic bonding accept the basics, since we weren't taught it. But, I did think we might have a question related to it so I read up in my free time.
    I put potassium hydroxide oops... No water was produced so it was oxide maybe they'll be nice
    The ions questions was:
    2Cl- -2e- ---> Cl2

    And the electrolysis was sodium hydroxide left with ions in water...

    My teacher was like, learn all of these equations because they won't give it to you in the exam. Thanks for wasting my time miss.
    Ahah, they always give some help!

    It is potassium hydroxide. Acid+base--->salt+water
    Base=potassium hydroxide and acid=nitric acid

    Duh No need to stress over the questions anymore. What's done is done I just wanna know An estimate of the grade boundaries I:

    Well... In January 2012
    Chemistry was the highest with an A* being 52... I'll say it was easier so I'm guessing 55?

    Wait, what section was that in? Because I think I might have misread it-or skipped it entirely? I cannot remember anything about drains at all-just about polystyrene cups.
    i can't remember this question either - really worried now :confused:

    I know, but my teacher wasted SO MUCH TIME in lessons making sure we knew the fricken equations, reactants etc, and for what? For OCR to give them to you in the exam? Get real OCR noobs.

    Oh 55/75 seems relatively low to be an A*. I thought it would be much higher like 65 since its 90% but that would be great if the grade boundaries are so low o: :rolleyes:

    I thought it was low too, but if it was 52 in January well, who are we to argue :P

    Do you think we should post a list of questions from the exam on this thread? :cool:

    i did the chemistry exam and found it pretty easy,,,
    the biology one in jan i found pretty hard and i missed the last 2-3 pages but still got 140/140 ums... so i think the boundaries for this exam will be higher e.g 60 for an A*
    physics on Wednesday.... has any one got the Jan 2012 paper for physics?
    thanks in advance
