Hey all

Slightly confused with national rails website. A train to manchester from stoke is £11 anytime return if i select a train in the morning, however if i select a train at around 4-5pm, its £16 anytime return.

Just wanting to make sure, can I not just book the "earlier" train and use my anytime ticket later in the day to travel out saving myself £5?

Also for future reference, is off peak for national rail anything after 9:30... as it seems they offer off peak returns on any of their trains. :confused:
