Are all GCSE results printed out on Results Day?
I sound really stupid, but it does worry me slightly.

If you've seen my other threads you'll know that I did French in year 9. But, will the results be printed on the sheet on Results Day? It doesn't matter if they aren't, I still have the results sheet I got from year 9, but when I do Enrolment, I would just like it to be more straight forward and not stressful.

Any help is greatly appreciated .

It took me a couple times to understand that, but what you're saying is will your year 9 gcse appear this year, now that you are in year 11? Correct me if I'm wrong by saying that

If so, I'm afraid not. Only new GCSE results you haven't already gotten yet will appear. (i.e. the ones you've been doing over years 10 and 11)

Nope. It's a complete pain, but you get a results sheet every August you've taken any GCSE units or completed the qualification, and you'll need to take all sheets that have an overall grade for the whole GCSE to enrolment.

I dont think so because in year 8 I took gcse portoguese and all over my result sheet it said ''THIS IS NOT YOUR FINAL CERTIFICATE'' ! According to a teacher on results day you get a sheet with all your results from each exam board and it shows your best unit grades so they cant tell if you've done any retakes.

Yes, a certificate is different from the results sheet. So if the poster got a results sheet in year 9, the French result will not appear this year. Certificates are different, literally pieces of card that get awarded afterwards.

Results certificates generally come out a little while after results day. I didn't get mine until early November.

Yeah, that's when I get mine. I assume that I would receive the French certificate, since we have an entire evening to celebrate it (I'm not going though).

aaahhh bingo it may sound sill but I have a question...

on results day when you get your sheet will it tell you your OVERALL grade in each subject or just the individual units and you then have to work it out... ?

for example with english literature, there are two exams and a coursework - will i get my final grade on the sheet or just the exam results?

It just must be annoying if you have to work it out like that..

or maybe it just depends on your school...

    You'll get it all !
So with your english lit, depending on what board it is (as the results sheet per board vary) it will probably say your first exam ums mark, with the grade, your second exam ums mark, with the grade, your coursework ums mark, with the grade AND then you're overall ums with the final grade.

That's what most of mine said, except I do recall oddly enough that one or two of my subjects never said the individual unit ums/grades, just the overall one.

Either way, it will say your overall ums and grade on all results sheets you get

If you completed the GCSE some time ago, then you should already have the certificate - they are issued in the Autumn after you get the results. The school is allowed to destroy any uncollected certificates after a year.

Your results sheet in August will only show the results you get this summer.

A lot of schools hang on to GCSE certificates if the subject was completed before the rest of the GCSEs. My school kept my Statistics certificate for two years and gave me all of them together.

When you go in on Results Day, do you get one sheet of results which show your overall grade for that subject, as well as another sheet showing your UMS scores for the modules taken that summer?

Or do you get various sheets from different boards?

I can only talk from my experience (with the boards that I was on) but I got the breakdown of marks for the sciences, history, geography, DT and German. Only got the grade for English lit/lang and maths. But they were all on one sheet...well they were on two sheets but both part of the same document

You should get your certificates before results day for te subjects you took before year 10... I did my History, Sociology, Media and Psychology exams early (some in year 8, some in year 9) I received my certificates in year 11

Until a couple of years ago, most schools gave you paperwork from different boards. Now most schools get the results electronically only and exactly what you are given depends on the exams software the school uses. With the most common option (SIMS) you get a single list showing all the unit scores for exams taken that season and all the overall grades you have been awarded.
