    Best Sport/Society
Just out of general interest, which do you think is the most fun, friendly society (sporting or not) to get involved in at your University and why? Also say which Uni you are at!

Thought it would be interesting to see what people think to this! Sorry if it has already been asked.

I wouldn't want to get into massive biases, so I'm going to say that sports clubs which are mixed sex (even if people compete in single sex teams) are usually the best in terms of socials

A mixed sport. You know why.

Also, obscure sports tend to be friendlier than mainstream sports. Something about being open minded (and desperate for new members).

I'm at Loughborough University, now even though we are very sporty as a whole I would say that the best society I've been, and still am, involved in is the hiking club. We usually go to the pub every thursday, have plenty of decent socials (cinema, ice skating, laser quest,...) and of course we go on hikes too! It's great as you get to explore many different parts of the country and we do both day and weekend trips, so it's like a mini holiday from uni sometimes!

Never getting involved in rowing, because everyone thinks that it is serious business and that they're important for doing a sport at a low level when people doing other sports at a higher level go on about it much less.

This only counts if you go to Oxford or Cambridge though.

So rowers are fine unless they go to Oxbridge? That doesn't really make any sense!

It probably doesn't make much sense because it's a load of nonsense
