AS OCR PE G451 - 31st May 2012

Hey guys,
Thought I start a thread since there isnt one already!!
How is the revision going?
Ready for the exam?
Btw does anyone have the Jan 2012 exam?

Hi, I'm taking this exam too but it's the one I feel the most unconfident about out of all my exams, I find the socio-cultural stuff hard- like I understand it but then when it comes to exam questions I never know what to write :s

I haven't got a copy of the Jan 12 exam but I know that these topics appeared on it so they're less likely to appear:
Section A:
Diffusion of CO2 in the alveoli
Effects of warm up and cool down on skeletal muscles
Section B:
Positive Reinforcement
Closed loop theory
Catastrophe theory
Section C:
Roles of the Media
Surviving Ethnic Sports
Impacts of hosting the Olympic Games

Hope this helps

Thanks for the topics
With Socio-cultural section, Just look at the past papers where you just look at the mark scheme as a template. That would help.

I'm doing this exam i'm so nervous!! There is so much to remember... does anyone else feel that? All 3 areas: A+P, Skill and Socio-cultural could all be nearly a subject each!!!

Anybody got any tips on how to approach the questions and just general ideas on how to get through this exam !:biggrin::biggrin:

Just do the past papers and look at the mark scheme and see how they answer the questions.

How was it?
I though it was a fair paper but some of the questions were too vague?

Any answers you remember!

Ok. What did everyone put for Venous Return Question, and smoking one, also change from Amateurism to professionalism and one on Australia??

Was this 60% of the total grade?

Also, what are the rough grade boundaries?

Epip was the biggest pain the ass, glad I didn't have to get marked for it. Such a relief..

Although then when we had to play football and get assessed, I played as a striker, and while we played we didn't even have a goal to shoot at.. wtf man. That's like playing tennis without a racket.

I've done terrible, done barely any revision during the year, only 2-3 days before the exams I did a few hours of going over key notes and I'll probably get C-B in human biology and psychology and D-C in PE. That was a big mistake, next year I'm going for 100% mark on all papers. If I can get from 30% on every test in class to 60-70% by doing a couple of hours a day for a few days I can easily focus and get 100%. I dun goofed but next year I'm going to focus more. lol

For no reason in the drugs question I wrote about how blood doping is illegal so altitude chambers/athletes living at altitude should be banned as well, haha.

I found the paper really good except the bandura question... 10 marks :frown:
Is it true that your epip and practical marks can only boost ur overall grade and downgrade it if you get a bad mark? :s-smilie:

Hi, im sure it's 60% theory (may exam) and 40% practical (2 sports and talk).
It says so on the OCR website:

http://pdf.ocr.org.uk/download/kd/ocr_9652_kd_gce_spec.pdf?

(page 62/84)

HOPEFULY the grade boundaries will be low
