    Holiday accommodation advice?
    Hi all,

Basically me and 2 others are going to Magaluf in July. Thing is, the other 2 already paid for the events wristbands and hotel for the 10 days. The company said there were no rooms left but I could still buy the wristband for the events

My friends emailed the company and asked about someone sleeping on the floor and they said "we would get in trouble with the hotel if we knew about someone sleeping on the floor". But we still plan to go out there an for me to stay in their already paid for 2-bed room. The way we see it is that the room has been paid for, so surely it's up to the occupants of the room whether they will let someone stay on the floor/in their bed with them?

Anyone have experience with this or can offer advice? Would be very grateful!!!

lol @ Your view of it.

If you paid on a per person basis then you can't just have someone sleep on the floor in the room - as that's effectively stealing. Remember too that they won't be expecting three people for breakfast. Even if you paid on a per room basis, they will still have rules regarding the maximum number of occupants. By paying for a room which can ordinarily only be occupied by a maximum of two people, the assumption is that it's the maximum for which you've paid, and it doesn't make the room yours to do with as you please. There are various health and safety reasons for this. Imagine a fire-escape scenario whereby the hotel was twice as full as it ought to be? Evacuating would be chaotic. This ties with the other problem of them not knowing you're there - if there was a fire and you were trapped inside, the fire brigade wouldn't know, and so might not come looking for you.

So basically buying the room for ten days doesn't make it yours to do with as you please, any more than you could buy a seat on a plane and have one of your mates sit on your knee.

I'd strongly advise against it - particularly given that a whole ten days is a long time to keep it secret, when you are supposed to be enjoying yourselves without stress!
