WJEC Computing CG1 25/05/2012
Just got out of the exam, and my hand is killing me. 25 pages of writing.
Anyway, how did everyone find that exam? I lost marks for not knowing what a binary search was, and I probably didn't get many marks on the last question as I didn't use any proper vocabulary for changeovers (phased, direct, pilot etc.), and I was kind of guessing, but what I wrote was basically what occurs in phased, direct and pilot changeovers. -
Re: WJEC Computing CG1 25/05/2012
Binary search, you take a list of organised numbers, go to the midpoint, determine if you want to go above or below, and go to that midpoint. Good way of filtering out lists.
I'm REALLY annoyed that I forgot my changeover vocabulary, although overall that wasn't bad. -
Re: WJEC Computing CG1 25/05/2012Yer. The Algorithm was calculating powers of X^Y. X was 2, and Y was 4. 2^4 = 16(Original post by Miyata)
Z was 16, right. I knew all of the stuff so I loved the exam. Can relax now got my last one after a month xD

Re: WJEC Computing CG1 25/05/2012Hmm, I didn't say that in explanation. I said that z is multiplied by x, y number of times. Which isn't false, because in algorithm they showed z = z * x, and it was done for y number of times, so you reckon I will get that mark? Explanation was out of 1 mark.(Original post by Astonix)
Yer. The Algorithm was calculating powers of X^Y. X was 2, and Y was 4. 2^4 = 16
Just thought about it, I most likely will, I remember when there's specific answer like yours, they say (correct but not expected), I mean mine is still correct.Last edited by Miyata; 26-05-2012 at 22:28.
