    Coursework results:
I would post this on studynet but for some reason it won't let me log on
Iv'e just finished my first year of the law degree and I just got back my LPES coursework results. For that particular piece of coursework, I was going through stressful family issues but didn't want to inform the uni for an extention because I didnt want to seem like a bother, as a result I didn't get a very good grade and ended up with a 30. I know that 40 is a pass, and I have exceeded 40 marks in all my other LPES coursework (there is no exam for this topic). Does anyone know if I will have to redo the coursework in order to pass or whether my other coursework will allow me to pass as I exceeded 40 in all of them.

I'm so nervous and stressed out about, I know I should have told the uni in hindsight but whats done is done, so if anyone could help me out i'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance :')

I assume your course is divided into several modules?
To pass a module you need at least an average of 40. Which means that all aspects that the module is assessed on need to be on an average of 40 (whether it's an exam and coursework or simply two pieces of coursework).

if you got 30 for that coursework but a 50 or higher for the other piece, you still have a 40 overall which means you would have passed the module UNLESS the course specifically states that all aspects of the module need to be passed.

Why don't you just email your lecturer or head of year? They are there to help you with things exactly like this!

Thank you for such a quick reply Yeah my course is divided into 4 modules. 3 of them I have coursework and an exam, but for this particular module I only had coursework. Your reply has made me feel much better, so thank you. I did think about emailing them, but I didn't want to sound needy?? Do you think that my head of year would be better to email rather than my lecturer because my lecturer kind of scares me lol.

You don't have to feel needy! ^^ The quicker you contact them the better because there are certain deadlines for appealing things (before the board of examiners meets). Though in your case, when you get your marks you will get a deferrral and you'll most likely have to redo your course work and hand it in at the end of June. Unless it was like a huge project then you'll most likely be asked to improve it basically.

By all means email your head of year, he or she should be aware of all the procedures and should be able to tell you what step to take next.

    Best of luck!
