    Found the theory a bit challenging but the programming wasn't too hard.
    Yourself?

    Same. Section D was a lot easier than I expected. I have my teacher to thank, because he go us to go through the things that actually came up in the exam.

    Yea same here we did the NoOfMoves question in our mock!! (Well it wasn't exactly the same but close enough)

    I'm soo glad my teacher went through the possibilities with us.

    How did you find sectionA??

    I think it was allright. Didn't have a clue on the Pixel thing where you had to make the 16 digit binary number... I could not see the slightest link between the numbers and the pixels.

    11 = black
    00 = white
    So red could have been either
    01 or 10
    With blue being the other.

    The idea was that each pixel was represented by 2 bits, so a row of 8 pixels had 16 bits in total.

    It was a little be challenging. The last FSM question annoyed me slightly, as they already gave you 3 obvious combinations to get to S50. Sometimes I feel like AQA are trying to make up fail...

    Yeah, AQA are great ones for offering vauge, 'figure-out-what-we-mean-for-yourself' questions. Some of the wording on the questions was frustrating because I didn't know what it was asking me. As you said, with the FSM it didn't state that it wanted ones that would reach S50, just ones that would be 'accepted' - in other words, not return an error. I assumed they wanted to reach S50 though so just did easy ones like "R, R, 50", "20, R, 50" etc..

    The vague questions aren't too bad - sometimes I think they should employ an primary school english teacher to check the wording / grammar of the questions. But the worst bit is the combination of vague questions and extremely specific mark schemes - AQA are like we don't care if that answer is right, we wanted this answer.

    Yes, exactly. And even more so when it is something as specific as computing...

    Ahhh, that exam was pretty rubbish.
    Section B and Section C went fine but two bits out Section D with a lot of marks I've never even been taught and Section A, well that's a hit or miss really because of the vague questions. Oh the pressure to get into Uni, feel like crying.

    Don't worry about it I know of someone who has done far worse than you. The fact that you managed to do 2 of the 4 sections means that you most likely didn't fail - we have the next exam on Tuesday so you can make up for lost marks then. In any case, it is hard to learn programming to a good extent over one school year with only lesson time to do it in. In the worst-case scenario, you can re-take next year :P

    Not this year (I'm in year 12), but I am hoping to continue computing to A2.

    Thanks for the support but I'm in a much worse situation.
    I'm in Year 13 so this year is my last shot.
    I have done Unit 2 THREE times and got 40(D), 40 (D), 42(D). I revised just as hard each time so I took the risk to not do it again else I'd gain like one mark and that's so much effort when I have other studies to focus on. I got a B on CW. Depending on Unit 1 and 3 will determine my grade. I only need a C. Please pray for me guys ahah

    Yeah, I used a function, it just said create a procedure or something so either would have been fine I think.

    Oh good! Inwas worried that I had lost a few marks there, other than that, I think it was okay, hopefully the grade boundaries are lower than last Year, really want an A.
