International Baccalaureate Results Day and UCAS
Hiya, I'm a bit confused about the process of applying via Clearing/Adjustment with the IB- I've looked ta the website but obviously it is heavily geared towards A Levels so I'm having trouble finding IB-specific information.

Basically, IB results day is on the 6th of July- if I chose to go through Clearing or Adjustment would I have to wait until the 16th of August/A Level Results Day to apply, or could I start contacting universities as soon as I got my results.

I'd rather not know that I had to go through clearing and have to wait over a month to do so because that much suspense would drive me crazy, although the advantages of being able to plan and research might be a bonus.

Similarily, getting results earlier than the A Level students would give us an advantage as we could have first pick of the Adjustment/Clearing places, or wwould we have to waut until the 16th of August. Scottish results come in earlier too, so surely there is a similar problem there too?

I'm hoping I won't have to do clearing, but now that all the IB exams are finished I have a month or so to mull over the probabily that i won't get in anywhere!

Thank you, any help would be really appreciated x

Clearing technically starts at the start of July, so you would be able to contact universities at this point but the vast vast majority will not know whether they would be able to offer you a place until 16th August (or 6th August in Scotland, but even then they can't always confirm until 16th if they take a lot of A level students) as they just won't know their numbers. I'm not sure whether you have a place at university which is conditional on your IB results, but if you do, the university may not be able to tell you if they can accept you (if you miss your grades) until A level results day.

Adjustment doesn't start until 16th August, so this isn't an option for you until then.
