What Do You Think Of Tanning?
I don't understand the big hype with changing your skin colour... Why would you spend time going on sun beds and sitting out in the sun, just to get a tan. What all it is is changing your skin colour.

I just don't understand what the big fuss is all about.

What do others think? Or am I the only one...

    I'm black.

Some white people just need it. Actually 90% need it. I hate paper skin.

Tanned skinned is much nice to look at rather than a sickly pale colour.

But hey that's just my opinion.

I am happy with a little colour, a 'healthy glow', primarily because it helps mask the fact that I am ill

Some people take it a little too far tho tbh, and some lasses look gorgeous with pale skin (Liv Tyler/Emma Roberts)

If you don't mind me asking what illness have you got? i've come across a couple of your posts and you seem to mention it a lot.

I don't see the big deal with it either but people like it, it's all opinion really.

..and yet if a white person said something like this about black skin

I think people are a little too obsessed, I quite like having fair skin though I think my legs would look nicer if they had a bit of colour. I wouldn't go overboard though, and I certainly wouldn't be like "oh god my legs aren't tanned, I cannot let the world see!!!"

If a white person said that about a black person I wouldn't give a damn.

I don't care if you personally wouldn't give a damn tbh. IMO what you said was not acceptable.

M.E. I've mentioned it more than I would normally these past 6 months as I've had a relapse which has totally ****ed my final year and has recently seen me have to suspend my studies (again)

I definitely look better with a tan.

A tan can help hide blemishes and makes you look healthy and thinner imo.

Over tanned people (especially wrinkly old people), and also fake tans usually don't look good.

It takes two to tan though.
