I had braces for two years and then was given a retainer (due to dentist not pulling a tooth that he should have). I wore it for all of five minutes then threw it away, your teeth won't have moved that much.

plus fundamentally unless you look deformed, no one cares how straight your teeth are. Orthodontist have this wierd ideal shape your mouth is meant to be to them, no one else will be able to tell the difference.

If they say you need braces again, just say no if they bother you that much, they can't force you.

I love having straight teeth (I look less goofy) but retainers doesn't affect how straight they are anyway, it bring all of my now straight teeth back though.
Therefore it does affect how straight they are...

And no there isn't anything you can do to them. It's your choice, wear night retainers and have straight teeth, or not.

I wore mine for as long as they told me to and my teeth have still moved

Gonna see what they recommend for me next week, hope I don't need braces again.
Same thing happened to me. My top teeth stayed straight but the bottom set moved (but weren't majorly out of line) and they didn't give me braces again, thank goodness.

Hated those retainers though, they were so uncomfortable.

you can't just push them back together temporarily

and if your retainers don't fit anymore you'll need new ones which cost at least £100.
you should have worn them when you were supposed to.
