Re: Cleaning laptop fan
I did this to my PC. It is okay if you know what you are doing. You will find a crap load of dust stuck everywhere so do this on a hard floor.
Just be very gentle and make sure you don't bump anything- there are many vids on youtube that can help you. Seriously just don't break anything! Otherwise it is safe. You should clean your fan often because it could overheat your laptop if not. My hard drive melted

Re: Cleaning laptop fanCan of Compressed air(Original post by Gary)

Re: Cleaning laptop fanIf you do it correctly, then damaging the components as a risk is quite minimal.(Original post by Gary)
Actually all my friends told me to use compressed air aswell but i was wondering if it is safe? as some people as said that it will damage compenets and call the fan to like over spin and etc...
I suggest you get compressed air which was specifically made for such tasks.
A small brush could work, but you won't be able to get dust out easily.
By the way, what laptop make and model do you have? -
Re: Cleaning laptop fanacer aspire 5740g, theres no way for me to open my laptop and get to the fan as you can have to like take everything out... soo apprently i just spray the compressed air into the cpu vent ?(Original post by Paradoxical)
