    What computing course?
just started looking at uni's really, hoping to get around about AAB-ABB in my A levels. I'm looking at software engineering or computer science?
What is the difference between M Comp and M Sci? is one better than the other.
Is it worth doing the year out for a work placement?
Any help would be appreciated cheeeers

I am definitely going to be at Anglia Ruskin to study Computer Science, I'm so excited! Although Anglia Ruskin isn't as highly rated as say, Sheffield Hallam for Computer Science/Software Engineering, it IS in Cambridge, which is the place to be in terms of technology ;p

Sorry, that doesn't really help! I'm not too sure, have you looked at league tables? I am quite against that, I mean I would look for the course that has the most interesting modules that suit you rather than the one that has high UCAS requirements? Well done for amazing A levels/ expected A levels!

Kings offer computer science for AAB and Nottingham offer it for ABB (no interview either) if that helps

cheers yeah I've been looking quite a bit in to Nottingham and like the look of that, hopefully will get decent enough A levels to get in! haha also looking at Sussex and Exeter, quite like the look of both of them
Would doing a M Sci / M Comp / work placement put me at a large advantage after uni?

I think it goes like this:

    MEng > Msci > MComp

I am going to Nottingham (ABB) this year, but I never been to the place but I've heard fairly good things about it, I preferably would go to Birmingham (AAB) it looked amazing there, and although you have an interview, its an interview to see if they would let you in with lower grades if you didnt quite make the grades and/or whether they will give a £2000 grant. Personally I didn't think I could make the grades, hence why I chose Nottingham, but it looks really nice there too, I can't wait

    Re: What computing course?
Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham etc - pretty much all of the big RGs do Computer Science for AAB-ABB. If you haven't done Maths then look at Kings, Nottingham, Newcastle and Birmingham.

Also I think MEng > MSci = MComp. The MEng has extra things to make sure the degree qualifies for accreditation. To my knowledge if you wanted to become chartered you would have to sit extra exams after the MSci or MComp.
