Who the hell would be thick enough to bring her more fattening food? Her parents should be arrested for child abuse. Obviously she could have made her own choices when she was mobile but ultimately her parents should have taken better care of her.

So sad, she got down to 15 stone and now will probably won't even make it to the end of the year. I hope her mum is happy for slowly killing her child and should be done for child abuse, this shouldn't be any different from starving your child. Once she got to a high enough weight to not being able to physically move then the blame solely went on her mum's shoulders and she should've sought help and restricted her calories.

When you're 19 and living with your mum, you tend to eat what she makes or what she buys, even if you can do it yourself, it's unlikely the teen would've had been able to resist the crap and huge portions of food her mum served up or bought in. You need a very strong will power to turn away from your old bad habits when they're right under your nose, especially if you find comfort in food.

I think they should've taken the whole family to fat camp, the poor girl had to try and eat healthy on her own I bet and caved in. She probably was in a vicious cycle of going back into her old habits, feeling guilty about it, so ate more, then gained the weight back quickly, so felt worse and comfort ate more.

It should've been obvious that going back home it'll go back to the old ways if she was 30 stone when starting fat camp as her mum wouldn't have changed her ways.

I can't comment further than what others have said already,but I'm imagining how it must feel to be her right now and fee desperately sad. She has apparently a life expectancy until..what 21? Being housebound(or even bed bound) for months,neighbours in fact report not seeing her for years..it honestly is really upsetting.

It might have been down to her parents when she was a child but once grown up (18+ possibly even younger) as an adult you cannot blame anyone else but her for not losing the weight. I refuse to believe "It's not that simple" if she put the effort in she could have lost it, it wouldn't have been easy but by far doable.

I saw a programme on the TV about 3/4 years ago about a teenager (a really nice girl) of about 16 who weighed around 29 stones who had a gastric band fitted but don't think it was going too great after the initial weight loss. Did anyone else see it or know what happened to her?

In all fairness to the girl she lost 14 stone in America

THEN she was led into the valley of death by some fish and chips and from then on it was a downward spiral
