By QOTSA I mean Queens of the stone age? And they are amazing!

I've heard a few of The Story So Far's songs a while ago. I like their style of music. I think I heard the song Quicksand? It sounded decent
Yeah Quicksand is a good song! Listen to Mt.Diablo and Daughters and see what you think.
Oh! yeah i have heard of them :') I haven't heard any of their music though, i'll check it out :-)

No offense or anything, but why are you in pop punk/hardcore/metalcore if
Justin Bieber went to a gig, or anyone who openly liked him went to
a hardcore/metalcore gig they would probably be pushed into the pit and killed.

    Happy days
I think the killing part is more likely to happen at a Norweigan black metal gig

Anyone actually like hardcore? As in Minor Threat, Black Flag and Discharge for the more mainstream stuff, and then there's slightly more underground stuff like Abolition (the Jesus Was A ****in' Dick EP rules), Oi Polloi and Reagan Youth.

I came into this thread to talk about hardcore and 'real' metalcore (as in stuff that actually includes hardcore influence rather than just melodeath with breakdowns) and not one band from either genre was mentioned on the first two pages.
BLACK FLAG BLACK FLAG BLACK FLAG.

I saw These Arms Are Snakes a good few years ago, with Rolo Tomassi supporting. Except they didnt cos the lead singer was ID'd and not allowed into the venue as it was 18+ True story. And Pulled Apart By Horses, well...I was saddened to see the queue for their show on my way to seeing Kylesa/Circle Takes the Square/Ken Mode last year. Who in their right mind would rather see them than those 3 bands? Honestly one of the strongest line ups at a gig I can ever recall seeing, let alone actually going to.
These Arms Are Snakes, Kylesa and CTTS, dude's got sweet taste.

    I won't quote tooosh haha

Love Suicidal Tendencies, never got around to Wasted Youth. Will add them to the pile of stuff to listen to. How about Cryptic Slaughter, Negative Approach and DRI?

Got to admit though, more often than not I'm greasy metalhead/noisenik/crustie rather than a fan of straight-up hardcore.
I love cryptic slaughter and DRI. Tbh I'm more of a fan of death metal but I do love a bit of hardcore. Do you listen to any modern hardcore I.e terror, trash talk, broken teeth, trapped under ice, brutality will prevail....... That sort of thing

    I know, they were amazing.
The story so far was brutal, more than WSS which i did not expect haha!
They played in a pretty small room and i was 2 rows from barrier, and me my friends and my sister and her boyfriend got completely smashed by everyone behind us and the crowdsurfers.
My sisters boyfriend was a bit pissed off with this guy because he kneed him hard in the face whilst he was crowd surfing, and tbh i agree with him.
The guy was like swimming, seriously you're gonna hurt people.
Fair enough crowd surf but not like that, so he pulled his down :')
But yeah they were insane i wanna see them again already
I haven't got anything booked yet, i'm not going to any summer ones cos they're all really expensive. I wanna see TSSF again and Blink 182 and Twin atlantic so.
I might go Warped UK in november though if they release any other good bands because i wanna see ADTR live so bad
Yeah TSSF are a lot more brutal than you would expect. When I was at your demise a guy began attempting to hardcore dance whilst crowd surfing! Who actually thinks "aw yeah, these people are holding me up, better start trying to windmill my arms". The festivals are all really expensive and the line-ups aren't that great for any of them, only one I would go to is bloodstock tbh. I'm going to TSSF, Terror, Trash Talk, set your goals (only going cause all my friends are), balance and composure, legend, and a load of death metal bands for less than half the price of download ticket lol

I know what you mean, i don't understand why people do that. And you always get those dicks who throw punches in the pit and want to hurt people.
Everyones there to have a good time and enjoy the music so it's like either do the same or leave.
Set your goals are great! I love literally all of their songs.
But yeah, I was considering reading cos my friends going but tbh the only wants i would want to see would be maybe ymas, cancer bats, deaf havana, enter shikari, foo fighters, every time i die and gallows.
And thats over the whole weekend, + my friend doesn't even like hald the bands so i'm not really sure why she's going tbh :')

We belong on the Rock And Metal soc. A lot of people, upon hearing the term "hardcore", won't know what to do with themselves.

They started in late 1990s, and are still going. There last album came out about 5 years ago, but they're currently working on something new. They're one of my favourite bands, who I would die to see!

I like alot of 70s/80s/90s stuff aswell like Duran Duran, The police, Led Zepplin, BFS, Pink Floyd etc.

Some people just go to festivals for the atmosphere and the music is just an extra which I understand. And yeah if your going to a gig dont punch and kick in the pit, "hardcore dancing" is the reason I hate going to some gigs, I want to see the band not get punched in the face.

I need to find people who like good bands.
    Right, i'm gonna re-phrase what i said.
I'm here to find people who like good bands in this genre.
Not mainstream stuff as in the likes of the UK TOP 40 etc. Foo fighters, sum 41 etc i am aware are
    pretty mainstream in this genre.
Also, these are just some of my favourites. This is a chat for people who enough this kind of music, i'm not saying other
bands arn't good, and i'm not saying all these bands are hardcore/metalcore it's a chat for any of that kinda music.
Is this a bit clearer? haha

So yeah some of my favourites:
    A day to remember
    Lower than atlantis
    Enter Shikari
    Rise against
    Architects
    The story so far
    Don broco
    Your demise
    Sum 41
    Four years strong
    New found glory
    Deaf havana
    Foo fighters
    Twin atlantic
    Parkway drive
    While she sleeps
    The Ghost Inside
    Set your goals
    Gallows
    Of mice and men
    The wonder years
    We are the ocean
    Bring me the horizon
    Cancer bats
    Let Live
    The devil wears prada
    System of a down

Yeah, i'm a girl and it's hard to find other people who like good music :')

All Time Low? Blink 182? Paige? Fei Comodo? The Maine? Young Guns? So many epic bands left out that fit this thread...

Seen a lot of those mentioned in the OP live and have to say most are brilliant! Especially Enter Shikari at Reading 2011 and WATO back in 2010 at HMV Forum!

Have you not been to Reading previously? Go, go and go! Last year's line-up was pretty meh for me but I still loved every minute of it and it's not all about the bands, the drinking, socialising, partying is all part of the experience too!

I've been in 2010 and 2011 and have a ticket for this year too!

I love BFS and the Police! I like the song out the window

I haven't seen many bands live, but heres the list
    Arctic Monkeys
    Foo fighters
    Vaccines
    Paramore
    Miles Kane
    We are Scientists
    Kasabian

I would go to see more bands, but a lot of my friends don't know what real music is haha
