I had an interview today at Harvey Nichols, i have had an interview at Selfridges before so i was prepared for what questions a high end store may ask. I got up to date with Harvey Nichols brands as i was sure they would ask me about it.

I was asked about my employment history and experience i have, i havent worked in retail before but i have been an intern at Missguided and have styled a photoshoot for Red Herring at Debenhams.

I was asked why i applied for the position, about Harvey Nichols brands, what my favourite brand was and why, how i would get to know my work mates, three words to describe me as a friend, what job i would like in the future, any hobbies.

I wore black ankle length trousers, white blouse with studded collar and a black blazer with mid heels, the interviewer complimented me on my outfit so i must have got the outfit choice right.

She said i will receive a call by next weekend if i have been successful so i will update this thread when and if i receive the call. I hope this thread helps some of you as i know i struggled to find a thread with useful info on Harvey Nichols.

Be confident, know your brands and make conversation with the interviewer on route to the interview room are the pieces of advice i would follow.

It was for thr accessories dept, i have been called in for another interview and trial on the shop floor so i will update my post. No i wasnt asked a maths test nor was i asked to sell an item which some posts have stated so i suppose it depends on the person interviewing you, thanks.

Just a quick update, i had a trial for an hour and a quick meeting with the manager and i have been offered the job very exciting!!
