    Ancient Aliens
I'm not sure really which forum this goes under..

but anyways, i hope some of you guys watched the show 'Ancient Aliens' on the History channel.

I know at first glance it sounds a little silly - but the points they make make sense to me. I'd be really interested to see what people think about it and the points the professors make and what you gather from the evidence. I'd to talk about it with anyone who is interested in the theory behind it

I'll say one thing though. The show puts forward it's argument better than religion does.

Convincing yourself with evidence becomes easier if you'd believe it without evidence anyway.
That's the gist of the programme, I think.

people don't believe in Aliens because there's evidence, they believe in aliens because they want to believe in it.

    Re: Ancient Aliens
I watched a first couple of episodes when my friend gave me copies of the files. Some of the arguments sounded quite convincing, and then others that I knew a bit more about sounded totally unconvincing and often represented bad understanding of current scientific or archaeological thought. Those unconvincing, poor arguments seemed to hint to the idea that the relatively convincing arguments only seemed reasonable to me because I wasn't familiar with a better understanding of the evidence myself.

I'm open for the idea of 'ancient aliens' if the evidence suggests it, but the people interviewed on that program seemed to be grasping at straws.
