    3 AS levels and 3 A-levels
In September I am going to start my AS levels, I have currently chosen Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Geography. What I was thinking, would it be better just to pick 3 As levels (drop geography) and stick with them to get 3 A levels, resulting in better grades? Because if I pick 4 AS levels then it would be likely to get lower grades, for example bbcc whereas 3 AS levels would get bba as I get to put more effort into them. But would that give me a smaller chance of getting into uni? And are there any other disadvantages of doing 3 AS and A-levels? Because normally people pick 4 AS and 3 A-levels.

Unis expect you to have 3.5 a-levels.

Plus you might not get good enough grades to get onto A2 in one of them. So if you only do 3 then you might be fluffed and have to do an extra year. But if you fluff one but still have 3 decent grades then you can carry on with the 3 you did ok in.

A lot of universities like you to have 4 AS levels, and there's a chance that if you only choose three you might struggle with one of them or not find it enjoyable (AS is very different to GCSE.) So it's probably safer to do four, in case one doesn't work out.

    That's a good point
