BF3 Close Quarters- Exact release date?
I know it's going to be released for PS3 in June. But when in June?
If you have the exact date then that would be great

I'm really looking forward to it :3 What's all this talk of Conquest Domination though? What is that exactly?

I'm pretty sure it's a lot more based on teams trying to keep flags, seeing as you can't really have many in very small buildings! I reckon it may just be two flags on a map and half the team defend theirs whilst the other half attack and try to capture the enemy's flag. I'm only guessing but it would be awesome if that did happen

PS3 players will get it probably next week already (June 4th/5th) at the same time as the new patch will be released. Xbox and PC players will have to wait until June 26th unless they purchase BF3 Premium for like 40 pounds.

@Miss Trololol: I heard that it will be very similiar to normal conquest with the only difference that you won't be able to spawn at any bases other than your original spawn base. That means you will fight over the other flags but even when you conquer them you won't be able to spawn at them. It's supposed to make the game even faster. But we'll see.

I'm not really feeling this Expansion. It doesn't feel like it's going to have any strategy to it - just a meat grind. Battlefield 3 - Modern Warfare, anyone?

I am on the Xbox360 but I also wish I had a decent computer. I used to be a PC player a while back (played BF2 and Counterstrike a lot) but I just can't afford a proper PC anymore

Yep that's what I've been thinking. On the one hand it can be very exciting but on the other hand I fear that all those Cod players will come over from MW3 (because it sucks). I suppose it'll be like a Operation Metro just even more intense. But we'll see. Tomorrow we'll know more

Doesn't really sound like much will change then really, Battlefield 3 was just a massive step towards COD style gameplay as opposed to the BF formula. Close Quarters will just give the maps to suit I suppose.

I do think it's a little unfair that people shout "CoD" at Battlefield 3 & DICE all the time. I feel really sorry for them

Same with me, I used to play Vietnam, 1942 and secret weapons of WWII. Then bought bf2 but my computer would just crash the moment I tried to load it up! :P

I understand how you feel, and I do agree. However bf need to try to keep their audience and if it means releasing a map pack similar to cod levels then so be it. I think this will go down well though with Xbox and ps3 players because on the larger maps with only 24 players it can be a bit like a ghost town. It could mean it makes it more exciting. And as a ps3 player my self I think it could be a good addition.

I agree, I mean bf3 is still so different to any other fps out there, no other games are similar to it on consoles, (for PC they have Arma). And there are some loose ends to the game but it's still amazing and I do love it. I suppose those people that are used to the older games on PC wont really like this but I suppose they'll just have to put up with it! :P

I just want to add I cannot wait until Armoured Kill comes out, it sounds like it will be one of the best maps ever to come to bf3, unless of course they're just giving it a load of hype and then it turns out to be rubbish.....

It's not really Dice's fault. I am pretty sure this was EA's idea anyway. They are trying to get all the Cod players to buy Battlefield and most Cod players do prefer fast paced action. So I suppose it's just the greed of EA because this is definetely not the typical Battlefield.

I heard that they will show some footage at the E3 convention. It does sound very good

I have really lost faith in COD in the past year because of the mess they made with MW3 it is a disgrace to the FPS games. Also BF3 can not even be compared to any other FPS because it is too good and unique to be compared... In my eyes, BF3 is the best first person shooter ever created for its realism.

Exactly! People who say that BF3 and MW3 are same are pretty much saying the chalk and cheese is the same.

I really hope they do, it would be awesome to see what they've got in store for us! One thing I'm wishing for is a larger amount of players on consoles for armoured kill seeing as it will be a huge map. I would be one happy guy if they did that!

Oh I have to disappoint you. Dice has already stated that the consoles will definetely not get more players. They say the consoles can't handle that (although I believe 32 players would be still possible from a technical point of view... ). I would rather have worse graphics and in return more players. I am still not sure how they are going to market the "biggest Battlefield map ever" to the console players. The console players make up 2/3 of all players and NO console player wants to play on the "biggest map ever" with just 24 players. I rarely play Caspian Border or Operation Firestorm because it's like a ghost town... When I watch videos of Battlefield on PC then those 64 players matches on Caspian Border look SOOO much fun. I can remember playing Battlefield 2 on 64 players servers back in the days. It was such a blast! But I assume we have to accept that they won't give us more players...

I think the Xbox does have the processing power to handle it but yeah, you'd have to cut down on the graphics and free up clock cycles. Some part of me would want more players on a map but then I'm really swallow and love how pretty and graphically pleasing everything looks.

I agree. I very rarely play Caspian border or Operation Firestorm because I actually find the size of the maps quite empty. Squads are spread out all over the place and you'll probably be wandering around for ages looking for someone :/ I miss the Bad Company 2 maps. I had so much fun on those maps.

Ahh ok well thanks for letting me know anyway! I agree, I think that the multiplayer would be so much better for consoles if they even just increased it to 32/34. Yeh it seems like it could be pretty tricky, which was why I was thinking they may just increase it but obviously not..... Yeh I can remember how fun and fast paced the games were for 1942 and Vietnam but now on consoles they really are lacking :/

Oh and to adsm_inamorta, only just realised this (sorry) but you can only get the Close Quarters DLC if from 5th June if you have BF3 Premium. They just introduced this in the June patch which kinda sucks. Not sure if even buying the premium is good for your money but hey, if you want it that early, you'll need to buy it for around £40. If you don't buy it you'll need to wait till 26th June.
