Hate lying through my teeth to my family! :(
So I got offered two jobs, my family all said I should take one but I've taken the other. My family think I've been at one job today.. it's a company that works at all different events doing catering. I was going to take the job but last minute decided not to. I didn't tell my family though because I knew they wouldn't be happy because they don't want me doing the other job. My family's been texting asking how the job went today.. and I've been replying to them so basically lying through my teeth to them and it makes me feel so bad! I can't tell them I didn't take the job because then they'll know I've lied. Not only did I let the company down by telling them last minute I couldn't take the job but I'm also lying to my family. I've just told them I'm not taking any more shifts with the company because I didn't like it, but that's just another lie...

You have the right to choose which job you take irrespective of what your family think. I agree with Shelly_x just tell your parents you didnt like the job they wanted you to take and have decided to take the other job. They might be annoyed at first but im sure they will get over it. In this economic climate any job is better than no job.

Just tell them you chose the job you think suited you. Apologise for lying, and just say you felt under pressure to do a job you hated, so you didnt know what to do. Dont feel bad about not choosing to do something that doesnt make you happy. We only live once. Goodluck hope it goes well for you

They may not be happy that you have not taken the job they wanted you to but they will get over it.
