    MSc in Human Computer Interaction
    Hi all,

Is there anyone who is going to do this MSc course this year ? (2012-2013)

I have a conditional offer. Just waiting for my TOEFL results to be sent and final transcript postgraduate specialization.

For the ones who are doing this MSc now, what do you guys think of it ?

I applied. Haven't got any answer yet!
Did you also apply for HCI somewhere else? I did at UCL, Sussex, Kingston, York and Birmingham.

    Hi parakins !

I've also applied for HCI at York, Birmingham and UCL.
I decided to choose Nottingham because of the course content. All of the taught modules, including the optionals, seems really interesting !

I went to York, Bath and Nottingham last May and personally talked to the course coordinators. At Bath and York I had already done some of the modules, so it would not be good for me.

I had a great chat with Andy, the course coordinator from Nott'ham. That's another reason why I chose there. The campus is beautiful and the Computer Science building is impressive ! He showed me the Mixed Reality Lab where some PHD students were working on cool projects.

Anyone pls let me know what the below means ?

I received a conditional offer and the first point is :

This offer is made on the condition that you pass an externally assessed qualifying essay at UK Upper Second Class Honours level or better before the deadline specified by the department. Please note students are not permitted to repeat a qualifying essay.

Do they need another degree qualification? or
My current degree qualification is not eligible?
What do they mean by 'externally assessed qualifying essay " ?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi krpasan,

I am not sure what that means. You'd better send an email to

    postgraduate-enquiries@nottingham.ac.uk

But I think that you will probably have to write an essay and get a grade of Upper Second in order to get an unconditional offer. I don't know the details about it, though.

    Hope that helps,

    Good luck !

    Cheers !

    Raphael
