Not allowed to have another business/occupation = no volunteering?
My employment contract at the job I started a few weeks ago states that I am not allowed to undertake any other business or occupation aside from my full-time job.
My concern is whether this means I will have to renounce on my leadership positions in volunteer activities, e.g scouting and other membership-based societies.
I wanted to ask HR, but thought I should first ask TSR =) -
Re: Not allowed to have another business/occupation = no volunteering?Volunteering is 'off the record'; you don't have an employee number for your scouting and whatever else, so it's not like they can look up an employment history, since you're not actually employed. Since volunteering is not employment, they can't use it against you if they find out or if you decide to tell them.(Original post by Polygoof)
