Re: Do you think these shoes are overpriced......?Those are alright, bit chavvy. Not looking to go too formal, just nice shoes to wear with jeans and a shirt at night.(Original post by ninth2)
The Clarks shoes are definitely more suited to older men, and I personally don't like the heel/back of the Burton's pair.
What about these?

How formal are you looking to go? You could get some nice brogues that look good with both trousers and jeans. -
Re: Do you think these shoes are overpriced......?i dont particlarly like them, they're alright, hardly awful. Care to suggest anymore?(Original post by sc0307)

They're hardly chavvy it's just a pair of black shoes. Plus even if they are chavvy, it's all about how you dress them.
But yes, I agree, the first pair of shoes you posted were gross. I'd recommend the ones from Burton. They seem the nicest to me. -

Im basically looking for some black loafers that I can take clubbing and to bars and can spill drinks on but then easily clean them back to how they were. These seem to be leather so hopefully this wiill be possible so do you think they;re too expensive for what they are? Do you know where I can get very similar shoes like these? I dont want shiny black shoes as they seem quite chavvy, a nice leather like this is good.cheers
Why should he not buy loafers? Just because it doesn't conform to societal norms of what young people should wear?
Now, back to the original question, I don't think they are that expensive.. considering they're from clarkes they should be good quality. However, for their given purpose maybe something cheaper... as it may get scuffed etc..

Re: Do you think these shoes are overpriced......?
Go to Primark. That way, when you spill stuff on them, you can just replace them for around £3 instead of bothering to clean them. Primark is just plain awesome. Besides, £70 for those things is quite frankly ridiculous.
If you are looking for something to last, I second the reccommendation for Burton. -
Re: Do you think these shoes are overpriced......?Some of the loafers posted in this thread have been awful especially those ones with the 'square toe'. They look like something you'd wear to school.(Original post by hiding12)

Its hard to get some nice looking loafers for <£60 so I would consider getting some nice oxford shoes instead like these (or something equivalent but cheaper): http://www.zara.com/webapp/wcs/store...OXFORD%2BSHOES
Also black shoes generally look better with suits, not with jeans. If you just want to wear them on a night out with jeans then choose brown or tan colour ones. -
Re: Do you think these shoes are overpriced......?a pair of reeboks maybe??(Original post by hiding12)
could yo suggest something else to wear with jeans and shirt which aren't chavvy?

Re: Do you think these shoes are overpriced......?black loafers can be worn for anything and if leather will last a decent amount of time so i dont thnk they can be over priced (well they can... but £70 isnt...) think cost per wear... i mean i have a pair of shoes cost £70 iv had them 3 years iv worn them about 5 times there pretty heels, generally only time i wear heels is to go out... cant wear them out cuz they will get ruined... so there restricted to birthdays and christmas...
...but they are BEAUTIFUL!!

I like loafers too. Ignore all the people who only think you can wear something if it's 'trendy'.
I got so much stick for wearing brogues some 5-6 years ago. Now suddenly when they're in fashion, it's fine.Last edited by ArcaneAnna; 01-06-2012 at 11:05.
