I want to write a book, for fun. :D
I wanted to try out something new, so Ive decided to try writing a book in the frame of exactly 30 days.
I've always had passion for writing but I know I'm not so good.
I don't want to publish it or anything either, just want to be able to say I wrote a book if I ever meet a writer.

Re: I want to write a book, for fun. :DDon't worry if you're not that good at english (the subject), creative writing is a whole different story (Thank you, I'm here all week!), there are many authors who got B or below in the gcse but can write incredibe stories.(Original post by Lil08)

Re: I want to write a book, for fun. :DMy teacher actually complemented me on my creative writing. This is one of the reasons that encouraged me to write.(Original post by Mrkingpenguin)

Re: I want to write a book, for fun. :DI watched a video online recently of the author who wrote the comic series 'Sandman'. I can't remember his name as I had never heard of him prior to watching the video but he was giving a commencement speech at a graduation ceremony to the university of arts or something like that and he basically had no qualifications/formal education.(Original post by Mrkingpenguin)

Worth checking the video out if you are in to writing as he gives some good advice. -

Re: I want to write a book, for fun. :D
Ah, if you've ever read Twilight, you'll spot countless grammar mistakes in the book. I'm talking serious errors, not just mistakes that could've been typos, etc. Nonetheless, look where it took S. Meyer

It'd be an experience, if nothing. I've been wanting to write one in a long time, too!
Either way, good luck

Re: I want to write a book, for fun. :DIs this Neil Gaiman, you are talking about? Not entirely sure but I think he wrote Sandman graphic novels.(Original post by advent2)

I am planning to write short stories in the summer and maybe a few short film scripts in preparation for university. Even if you don't want to publish, I would recommend sending it into competition to see what reaction you get. It was always be friendly/ constructive criticism so will help you make it better. Or even if you just look at some writing competitions and just use their themes to get ideas going and for fun little writing activities. -
