Re: Are we taking it for granted, is playing water fights still acceptable? So you only drink tap water, nothing else?(Original post by Casshern1456)
I drink water sometimes from the tap, don't usually go buy canned drinks or bottled ones because i don;t want to fuel the demand for the drinks companies. It just seem in the Western countries we don't do enough, we take one step forwards then two steps back. -
Re: Are we taking it for granted, is playing water fights still acceptable?Lmao :P Interesting theory, although you would need to drink something else in order to produce it...(Original post by original_username)

Re: Are we taking it for granted, is playing water fights still acceptable? That's not what I said. But, I drink tea i made from boiling water from tap water, 95% of my life.(Original post by AlmostChicGeek)
So you only drink tap water, nothing else?
Bit of a rant but it's the curse of the developed country. There probably won't be much change how that i've ready everyone elses opinion. might as well conform loool.

Re: Are we taking it for granted, is playing water fights still acceptable?Where is the water actually going? Do you mean more of it is being evaporated into the atmosphere, rather than staying in rivers, lakes, etc? Presumably most of the water is still there somewhere in some form.(Original post by Akkuz)
Water supplies are gradually beginning to dry up around the world. Forget oil. Forget climate change. The next big war will be over water. People can survive without oil, we can battle against rising temperatures and rising sea levels but without water were ****ed.
So in answer to the question, yes we should be preserving water. -
Re: Are we taking it for granted, is playing water fights still acceptable? We're only asking this question because some people don't have access to clean water and us not using clean(ish) water in waterfights won't change that so it is not wrong, but increased demand could provide a stimulus for more effective methods to increase supply to be developed.(Original post by Casshern1456)
But is it right to use waste water in water fights when we could be preserving it. -

Re: Are we taking it for granted, is playing water fights still acceptable?I think as the human population grows the demand for water will increase to a level where the outstrips the supply of providing clean water to the masses because of human and environmental constraints. Which means less clean water for us and more people will die year after year from drinking contaminated water. All the more reason why we shouldn't waste the stuff.(Original post by Psyk)

Re: Is playing water fight acceptable?Showering for 30 days is excessive and technically no,showers aren't essential-you cansurvive without having a wash.(Original post by Obadetona)
Terrible comparison, showering is necessary, water fights are not. -

Re: Are we taking it for granted, is playing water fights still acceptable?90% of the world is covered in water, however <1% of this is ready for human consumption.(Original post by Dalek1099)
the water isn't wasted because it is recycled back into the enviroment. -
Re: Are we taking it for granted, is playing water fights still acceptable? There will be a lot more water in the future, from the melting of the ice caps and water in water fights,as clearly explained gets redistributed to the environment-you technically can't waste water.(Original post by Casshern1456)

Re: Are we taking it for granted, is playing water fights still acceptable? It's exactly why I said don't take water for granted, it's not going to be here forever. Demand will outstrip supply of water through increase human population and consumption of water.(Original post by TheHansa)

Re: Are we taking it for granted, is playing water fights still acceptable? Its still recycled into the environment because it goes down the drains/in the clouds and then the water is rained down on us/filtered and both examples turn out as clean water and no,the planet isn't covered with 90% water and the rest of the water can be filtered,to create clean water, which will probably happen in the future.(Original post by Casshern1456)

Re: Are we taking it for granted, is playing water fights still acceptable?water is purified in large containers which uses energy and that in turns create CO2 into the atmosphere, don't think it's as simple as filtering water would work it wouldn't provide drinkable water to feed the thirst of everyone on this planet. Your just making up excuses to not conserve water.(Original post by Dalek1099)

Re: Are we taking it for granted, is playing water fights still acceptable?I see. So basically the water is being used up by being inside humans. That makes sense.(Original post by Casshern1456)

True, other peoples urine? -
Re: Are we taking it for granted, is playing water fights still acceptable? But it was implied. If you do drink anything else, why are you condemning the rest of us?(Original post by Casshern1456)
