On the pill, but condom broke...
Basically we had sex, and afterwards, some of the stuff seeped out the base of the condom (Damned gravity) and it may have went in there. We're not really sure so just assume that the condom broke.

This is the first time this sort of thing happened. What do we do

If you're on the pill, and take it everyday, aren't on anti biotics/other medication which may stop it working effectively, haven't been sick and don't have diarrhea (and haven't had any of these for the last 7 days) then you should be covered by the pill and you don't have to do anything.

If any of those apply, then take the morning after pill, within 3 days of the sex.

Remember when the man removes his penis from your vagina, it's important he grips the base of the condom to keep it on and to prevent any semen coming out.

so unless you're worried he has an STI or you do, then whats all the worry?

Echoing the others - the pill is there to protect against pregnancy. So long as you take it properly, you're not at risk of becoming pregnant.

I guess we're just used to having 2 layers of protection. It's reassuring. I can't imagine how people go about only using the pill or only using condoms.

For some people using the pill, pregnancy is not The Worst Thing That Could Ever Happen and/or 99% reliability is enough. For others, it is and/or it isn't. My first partner wanted to keep using condoms after she started using the pill, for example.

Most people just use one layer of protection...
I've used either condoms or pill for the last 4 years and never got pregnant, same with my friends. Its much harder than you think to get pregnant, some couples try for over a year before they have a baby. And thats having loads of sex right when the woman is ovulating!

I often use only the pill and have never been pregnant. Relax, you'll be fine.

If you're that worried, you could get the morning after pill. The chemists or whoever might tell you you don't need it though. That is what happened to a friend of mine in the same situation as yours.
