I am also sitting the WJEC language exam tomorrow! and similar to you i am struggling to revise! i don't really know how to, to be honest all i could have really done is practice writing and thinking very quickly as that seems to be where i struggle most, along with many others i have heard!
Oh I'm glad somebody else is also! I'm the exact same, English is a difficult subject to revise for. Literature is based on texts, so it's even slightly easier for that I guess! Did you sit that WJEC paper last week also?

I was going to attempt some papers tonight, but I stressed myself out because I was overthinking waaaaaaaaaay too much. Never good before an exam. Hopefully the "exam hall environment" will work in our favour tomorrow eh?

If you're doing WJEC then this thread really doesn't help. In fact if you follow the advice in here you'll pretty much do the opposite of what you're supposed to...
The theory behind the exam itself is very similiar if not identical, so from a technicality approach it definitely helped me tonight. Sometimes it's refreshing to read how others respond to an English Language paper. Suppose we're all in the same boat at the end of the day!

Are you in year 10, or 11? For the year 10 exam (which I'm doing) you only have to quote relevant words and sentences - no PEE or analysis or anything

Yeah i sat the literature paper last week too, i am resitting this one as i didn't do so well last year, but hopefully it will be different this time! and what texts did you do in the lit exam last week? i did an inspector calls and heroes and found that the exam wasn't as bad as i thought it might be!

Yeah hopefully although i hope the heat does cool off slightly, it's always easier to think when your not sweating bucket loads lol!

I finish Year 11 next week (it cannot come quick enough!) Yes, my brother is in Year 10 and his is very much based on extracting information. We don't analyse either, save that for the Literature. We use PEE though, so state the relevant point, insert the quote from the extract, and then a sentence (max) about how this quote answers that specific question.

Good Luck! I'm sure we'll all be just fine. Optimism and all that jazz...

I'm sure you'll do well! In regards to Literature I studied Lord of the Flies (I enjoy english but seriously, the biggest snooze fest ever.....) and Blood Brothers, which I enjoyed. Same wavelength, the paper seemed pretty kind on our behalf. Not as bad as I anticipated! Oh I know, heat and adrenaline = recipe for disaster!

Hi all! Please help, I did OCR English exam today. There are 3 q's based on Section A worth 40 marks in total and you do one on Section B worth 40 marks. I keep feeling like I wrote tooooo much, but my hand writing was really slanted and big as I find it easier to write like this in exams. I had to ask for 4 extra sheets of paper so in total I wrote about 15 sides in a 2 hour exam. Is this bad?! I really don't know how to feel about it. I keep thinking to myself the examiner will mark me down for writing so much...any advice is much appreciated. Thanks and hope the exam went well for you all.

It all depends on the examiner themselves - they are likely to deduct marks, but if they believe you have made relevant comments they should give you some credit!
