Re: Lady Gaga and the religion of peace.THIS.(Original post by Muffled Snuffles)
You do realise it was only a couple of days ago that Korean Christians were also opposed to her concert since they hated the image of homosexuality and pornography? And some threatened violence whilst others just boycotted and defaced pictures of her.
I don't see a thread on that anywhere. Christianity...religion of peace?

The religion of peace and tolerance strikes again. Threats of violence by Islamist protesters have forced the cancellation of her Jakarta concert, due to be the biggest one on the Asian leg of her world tour.
I guess its a lesson they learned early on that if you threaten violence, you get what you want. A new low for the predominantly Muslim country's reputation for combining free speech and democracy with a mostly moderate brand of the faith.
Oh snap. You mean there's more than one extremist splinter of religion?!Last edited by ANARCHY__; 29-05-2012 at 22:39. -
Re: Lady Gaga and the religion of peace.whats that got to do with death threats?(Original post by ANARCHY__)

Re: Lady Gaga and the religion of peace.
I feel sorry for her Indonesian fans. What a shame some people had to spoil some fun for others

I'm not particularly attractive and I'm quite weird, so it's kinda nice to have a role model for us freakozoids?(Original post by xXxiKillxXx)
Leaving religious reasons aside, I don't understand at all why people like her. She dresses in bizarre outfits, she isn't attractive at all and acts so weird. I don't understand WHY she has a cult-like following.

Re: Lady Gaga and the religion of peace.Point being that extremism exists in virtually every religion because there is an element of religion which can interpreted and promoted to encourage zealotry. And prohibiting contraception can be particularly dangerous, especially in countries where STIs are rife and an explosive population can wreak havoc on the country's development.

Re: Lady Gaga and the religion of peace.Someone in this thread already mentioned that she campaigns for equality rights, as well as campaigning against bullying and being really nice to her fans and wanting them to be confident in themselves even if they're "different".(Original post by xXxiKillxXx)
What exactly makes her a good role model? -
Re: Lady Gaga and the religion of peace. And how exactly do you sue a religion, with no one authority, and in a different country, and on this basis?(Original post by badcheesecrispy)
If she has to cancel this tour and I was an Indonesian who had bought tickets I'd be suing the Muslim Ummah to high heaven.
It's not like in the US where a church promised someone that they'd see Jesus and they didn't and then sued that particular church. You can't sue an entire religion...
Unless of course you're just showing your intelligence. I mean your last thread was a C&P from stormfont -
Re: Lady Gaga and the religion of peace.Or more likely that the gov't was pandering to the group and asked her to tone it down a bit. If they had a problem, they'd outright ban her. Though, never let logic get in the way of trying to find something against an entire religion because of one group(Original post by Steevee)
What was also interesting was that the Indonesian government demanded Gaga 'tone down' her show. So we can't argue that it's just radicals that had a problem with her. -
Re: Lady Gaga and the religion of peace.Or perhaps, a news title containing Muslim get's more views. The data suggests that most terrorists AREN'T Muslim, but from other groups...(Original post by Elipsis)
I'm sure you think you are being really logical, but Geert Wilders doesn't want anyone killed or kill anyone, he just wants the people who do it constantly to stop coming to his country or leave. I don't buy into the 'every country has it's extremists' routine, because although they might, that number is relatively very small compared to the number of Muslim extremists wherever they go. Extreme almost seems to be becoming the standard nowadays - i'm guessing largely thanks to the internet. No one is saying that all Indonesians or all Muslims are bad, they are saying Islam is bad because wherever it goes f-d up stuff like this happens A LOT. -
Re: Lady Gaga and the religion of peace. And what's also seen a rise in the past ten years? Namely from the US? Military might against their countries....(Original post by HARRY PUTAH)
The past 10 years has seen a rise in militant islam there and it is causing serious problems.
The violence equals that of Mexigore, iraq etc.
Also, it's Mexico; not Mexigore -

Re: Lady Gaga and the religion of peace.Do you mean the data that conviniently excludes the years when they were most active, and only includes Europe which has a small Muslim population? Because if you look on a global scale and only include incidents where people died then they account for almost all terrorism(Original post by de_monies)

Also, I know its Mexico, I call it Mexigore because of what the cartels do to each other. -
Re: Lady Gaga and the religion of peace.Even on that site, where does it say that Muslims are the majority, and where do they cite their sources?
Your source doesn't have to be pro Islam, but when a site is inherently anti Islam, you can see what they're trying to get at.
Find me a neutral, respected source. At least at places like loonwatch etc.. whilst being biased, they link to the official statistics -
Re: Lady Gaga and the religion of peace.Well it's quite easy for you to do yourself. Lets look at the last weeks worth of bombings listed by TROP shall we?(Original post by de_monies)

Somalia - 6 people killed. Here's the news article:

Pakistan, Karachi - 2 shias killed for being Shia:

Thailand - 3 people killed:

Moscow - Man stabbed 20 times for criticising Mohammed on the radio!:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012...?newsfeed=true
Basically, you get the point now? In total in the last week 85 people have been killed in the name of Islam, and countless more have been injured. The religion of peace has had 33 different attacks in 9 different countries carried out in it's name in a week. It has been responsible for killing more people than Anders Breivik did. In that week there have been zero attacks in the name of Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, or Buddhism, Left or Right Wing ideologies. Or for that matter any other ideologies. Sure they do crop up every now and then, but you can see that when the religion of peace averages almost 100 deaths and 33 attacks around the world a week, they far far far surpass all other ideologies by miles. You can't even hide behind the idea that it is the situation they are in when it happens in this many different countries... It is purely people picking up the Quaran and coming to that conclusion. -
