I know right. And most of the time with some encouragement they turn out to be pretty good at whatever it is and start enjoying it.

I'm taking up skydiving next year as my next (not cheap) thrill.
Oooo nice! I done it for charity once, couldn't do it all the time

    Agreed.

At worst, believing in a 'calling' is just delusional.

You can be aspirational and have a fulfilling life without having to find what you label a 'calling in life'. Not miserable- realistic.

What is a calling in life? How do you find it? Who 'calls' you? Can you only have one 'calling in life'?

What is a calling in life? Fairly evident if you read the responses in the thread How do you find it? You just know one day. Evidently you haven't yet.Who 'calls' you? What??? Can you only have one 'calling in life'? Probably not, you may rediscover a new aim in life that compells you to rethink.
Stop being so bloody awkward. You fully understand the thread, you're just looking to be pedantic.

    1. It is evident that people are listing their experiences and dreams.

    2. How? Does a voice in your head tell you or something?

    3. So you can have more than one calling in life? Say you calling in life was to be vet because you've loved animals since a young age and had loads of pets, or whatever. You're well on the way to becoming a vet but say you fail some exams and then have to change careers. Will the new career become a new calling in life? Will your 'calling in life' just be whatever you end up doing or enjoying.

Maybe my calling in life is to question what 'a calling in life' is?

i suppose music i've reached about grade 3/4 level on the flute in less than a year, and got to grade 8 piano before i quit because it was too expensive, and i play in four different school bands on three different instruments XD i can read sheet music like it's a language, and am usually very good at sightreading.

sad thing is, i don't want a career in music XD i really want to be an engineer in the royal navy o.O if i somehow got guaranteed a good paying job doing music, i'd be really happy, but i doubt that will happen :/ so yeah... navy for me :P
