    Maths A* A Level
I think this goes here, but please move if not.
Ok for ocr (or all of exam boards i dont know) to get an A* in maths you need to average an A (80ums) and 90UMS for c3 and c4. If you get for example 90+83+60+ 85 plus an average of 95 ums in c3 and c4 could you take 10 ums off these modules and put them onto the others whilst still maintaining a 90 average on c3 and 4 and an overall of 80+ on the others if you get what i mean.

OR does it have to be 80 overall in (C1, C2, M1, S1 (whatever module you do)) + 90 overall in (C3, C4)

    Thanks

You need a total of 480 UMS with 180 of those coming from C3 and C4.

If you get 190UMS from C3 and C4 could you put 10UMS onto the other modules? Thus still having an overall 90 in C3 and C4

What you're asking doesn't make any sense. If you have the 10 marks to spare, they're included in your count towards 480.

Basically, add up all your UMS scores and if they add up to 480 or above (plus a minimum of 180 in C3/4) you're sorted.

If you're asking about the marks mentioned in you original post, 90+83+60+85=318.
480-318=162. So if you have 90 in both C3 and C4 you've exceeded the 480 mark limit and attained the 180UMS from the A2 units so you would have an A*.

Ahh thanks. No cause i thought that the C3 and C4 marks are on their own and the rest are on their own

I'm sure you've realised but just to clarify; no, it's 90 average for c3 and c4, and 80 average for everything, that includes the other modules and c3 and c4
