Psychology AQA A PSYA2 possible 12 markers
Hey psychology pupils. Im currently studying psychology AS and have been investigating upon the possibilities of a 12 marker for unit 2 of the course. I was correct for the unit 1 resit- a 12 marker based on day care.

Moving on to unit 2. The AQA examiners never use the same 12 marker in a row. The last 12 marker was based on individual differences. This was the psycho-dynamic approach to abnormality (January 2011) before that was outline and evaluate research relating to independent behaviour (june 2011).
A 12 marker on stress however has only come up once out of the past papers but social influence and individual differences have come up numerous times. I'm making a wise guess that it will be on stress (not stress related illness upon the immune system) maybe work place stress. First time i may have been lucky but the aqa exam setters do not set 12 markers on the same section twice in a row. Goodluck for the exam guys bless you all.

Re: Psychology AQA A PSYA2 possible 12 markers
Hey, id just liked to say that the last 12 marker january 2012 was on stress, and the one before was social psychology so i think it'd be on Individual differences
knowing that the 12 markers on abnormality that have came up were the biological approach, definitions and psychodynamic approach, id say the safe bet is probably on tretments, probably biological like drugs or ect OR behaivoural. I hope to god that its not pychoanalysis, dont understand that one bit. But back to the topic, i reckon the 12 marker is gonna be on Abnormality, its what id put my money on

Re: Psychology AQA A PSYA2 possible 12 markersfor unit 1, there was 3 memory 12 markers in a row, most people were expecting day care to come up, this one isn't as simple(Original post by eren yousouf)

Re: Psychology AQA A PSYA2 possible 12 markersindividual differences isn't it's own section, you're right on those 3 sections, individual differences is just part of why people don't conform and things like that(Original post by kretschie)
This could be a really stupid question and i've misunderstood... but could someone briefly state the individual differences section as i thought there was only abnormality, stress and social influence?? thanks!!

Re: Psychology AQA A PSYA2 possible 12 markers
I find all the psychological therapies like CBT (SIT and hardiness) and then the behavioural and cognitive therapies all blur into one and get really confusing!
I don't think the question should be on stress because obviously it came up last year but I Keep coming across people who think it will be on stress which is confusing. I thought it was more likely to be on the cognitive or behavioural model of abnormality. -
Re: Psychology AQA A PSYA2 possible 12 markers
I'm aware this is very last minute and my information may not benefit a huge number of people..
I sat the exam this time last year and again in January (this unit is a KILLER for me) and still haven't managed to surpass obtaining an E grade, brilliant seeing as in PSYA3 I got an A!
Either way, I think it's a safe bet to say a 12 marker SHOULD be on Individual Differences this time round like others have suggested.
I've learnt the approaches sub biological to a decent degree and hopefully it should get me through this time!
The only main advice is to remember studies.. if you remember the studies then you should be able to use your basic common sense knowledge of psychology to evaluate them i.e. ethnocentric bias, alpha bias, etc.
I can't remember if IDAs are an A2 thing, but if you can I guess you could wiggle some of those in there too i.e. reductionism, nature vs nurture..
Good luck to everyone who is sitting & indeed resitting this exam!
