    Glasgow or Bristol?
Hi, I am currently planning an exchange beginning in January 2013, studying English Literature. I am trying to decide between the University of Glasgow and the University of Bristol. Any opinions on which city/university is better would be great!

I do English Literature at Bristol and I have to say, although I've never been to Glasgow, Bristol is a fantastic city. I've heard mixed reviews about Glasgow, apparently the city itself isn't very nice but there are some quite cool, arty areas as the art school there is apparently pretty good. But Bristol has so much to offer, and the English department is brilliant. I think in terms of which one is better as well Bristol does have a better reputation than Glasgow for English, it's certainly a lot higher on the league tables! I am biased of course, but I can't stress enough how much I love it here, if you have the opportunity to study here I would grab it with both hands because the course is extremely competitive.

This is absolute bull. I have lived in Bristol and spent time in Glasgow and Glasgow is much better than Bristol frankly (aside from the weather and some aspects of the music scene).

Sorry, I did say apparently. It's a matter of opinion I suppose.
