I havent seen anyone else talking about this practical exam, and given that almost a week has passed since the exam I assume we are now allowed to discuss it? Just wondering what everyone thought of it, and also what did people get for the value of 'R' on the first question? I thought some of the calculations were a lot more tricky than the previous years, and I know I messed up on some of them!

Yea it was generally harder! I can't quite remeber what i got for R. Think it was C2H5.

Hey guys

I wasn't doing the AS practical but I was doing the CCEA A2 practical.
I heard from some of my teachers that they are putting in complaints about the exam cause it had stuff in it that isn't covered until module 5 (transition metal stuff), like the copper compound for the unknown section??

They also said that the calculations were harder than in previous years cause they had too many fiddly/sneaky bits in them

Yea i found the copper compound thing ok. But your ryt the calculations wern't wise compared to what we were used to.

I thought the exam was really bad! Everything was fine except for all the quantative questions does anyone know how much they were worth in total? including all the percentage yield questions. Doubt I got any marks on them! Apparently R was ethanol but I didnt get it because I didn't know how to work out the relative molecular mass using the information given
