I shave my legs because I like how they feel, more than how they look. I shave under my arms because i feel that I sweat more with it there. I engage in hair removal elsewhere because, ahem, no one wants a mouthful of hair. It's also why I ask my OH to trim (though not shave...unless he wants to).

I don't really get the arm hair thing. I guess I have quite fine, pale hair, but seriously...it don't think it really looks bad, and for me there's not a sensation issue on your arms. At least, it's not a particularly erogenous zone for me - maybe for others! I just think hairless skin feels nice...if my OH had a hair arse, I'd probably start dropping hints about waxing...

I've never shaved my arms. If guys don't like it, then sod it.
I maintain shaving legs, armpits etc but adding arms to my shaving list is too much of an effort. Plus, imagine having prickly arms. Eugh.

Also, I don't think being hairy is unhygienic. It's more to do with how it looks and how guys now seeimingly prefer the less hairier woman.

Yep. Without being crude, it's just nicer. Looks nice, feels nice. As long as it's trimmed! People say it's some male oppression thing, but I trim mine too

The hairs on my arms are so fine that you hardly even notice them, therefore I don't ever shave them (and never have).

It's never occurred to me to shave my arms O_O My hair grows so fast they would turn into a scary prickly mess and no one has ever had a problem with it..

I don't understand the big deal with hair, 150 years ago they didn't care.

Because it is completely normal to have hair on your arms! It's hardly noticeable! This obsession that women have to be like completely hairless is freaking me out, it's like we're supposed to be pre-pubescent or something

I shave my arms but I don't know anyone else who does. My arms aren't mega hairy and the hairs aren't thick, just dark. I really don't like hairy arms on girls, and it makes me feel masculine

I have never shaved my arms, which I think from looking at my friends and the responses on this thread is completely normal. I have to admit, I don't really have any hair on them. I wish I'd never started shaving my legs either as I didn't really have hair on them either before and my mother's legs are completely hairless - never shaved a day in her life.

I would never shave, wax or in a way depilate my arms.

1) who has the time for that? I certainly cannot be bothered to remove all traces of hair from my body on a daily basis (and if I left it longer I'm sure the men who expected me to have clean-shaven arms in the first place would be upset by all the stubble that was no growing in it's place). Plus when shaven hair grows back it's often thicker and more noticable than before.

2) I don't really care about my arms hair. It's blonde and not particually long or dense. As far as arm hair goes it's reasonably negligable. If I had an issue with my arms hair- and many women do because they have dark/course hairs that are more noticable, then I wouldn't judge. But doing for the sake of men who find women more attractive without arm hair is ridiculous.

3) it's my body. And not going to shave every inch of it for certain men who believe I will be more attractive as a naked mole rat.

There is a difference between having hair on arms... And being hairy ... If there's a bit of hair visible when U get up close its normal ... However if a girl just has long arm hair that's disgusting .....
also im a guy and none of my freinds or me shave legs or arms that's not advised

I shave my arms and it only takes a matter of seconds. It's not that I even had much to begin with - I just don't like it on myself.

Presumably because it results in a prickly arm as it grows back. Which would be weird.

i guess it depends on your skin type and if the hair is blonde or black.

Clearly if you're pale skin but have dark hair that is a big problem.. which I really hate as I have that :/. Or if you had dark skin but blonde hair.. O.o bit unlikely but then obviously that would not be doing your favours.

Blonde hair on pale skin = not noticeable

Dark hair on dark skin = not noticeable
