On my CV i put down my work experience as my last job because I was sure it counted and at the bottom I wrote- 'References available on request' but like what shall I do shall I call the work experience people up from over two years ago and ask for a reference ?!!

Re: Job interviewYou need to ask two teachers, teacher + Head of Sixth form or any combination if they will give you a reference. Assuming they say yes, and school staff usually do, then when you go to the job trial, take their names, job titles, email address, phone number and school address on a piece of paper and give it to the employer. In most cases the employer will want to contact either or both of them.(Original post by Roshniroxy)

Giving pre written letters is sometimes acceptable, but becoming less so nowadays. Usually the employer wants to contact the Referee directly. -
