    How well do you sleep?
I have always had issues with deep sleep. I can fall quite quickly into a really deep sleep (even on buses and in cars) which is normally good. But it also means that I find it very difficult to actually wake up (it takes several alarm clocks). I talk in my sleep, kick in my sleep, sometimes (more when I was younger) walk in my sleep.

I've found that this affects my life quite a lot - I planned to have a 10 minute nap prior to one of my first year exams and slept for 5 hours straight (despite having an alarm clock on) and thus missed my exam. And I can't sleep next to anyone without kicking the life out of them!

I'm interested in how people deal with their own sleep problems - not necessarily disorders - seen as though sleep is such a difficult thing to control!

I take ages to fall asleep- probably about an hour, though I do find waking up hard. I also shout in my sleep if I go to bed feeling stressed (I once swore loudly at my bother in my dream whilst on holiday with my family in a hotel room!)

My life is currently too stressful with so many exams and responsibilities to sleep good at night. I always find it diffucult to fall asleep cause I worry too much about everything really. Normally I would get 5-7 hours easily, but sometimes I just need more than that. Everyone's different

I find it hard to sleep, too much to think about.
When i do wake up, I don't want to- I just feel like lying down for the rest of my life.

Some days i sleep well other days its awful, it tends to go along with my mood. Been feeling very sad for a while and ive noticed that my sleep is awful, i wake up constantly and apparently my mum heard me crying in my sleep, i overheard her talking to my dad about it. When im in a decent mood though my sleep is great usually around 5-6 hours.

    This.

But my eyes take their toll and get bloodshot and heavy

My sleep problems have always been because i wake up too easily. I've learnt that if i dont switch on the light when a small sound at 2.37am wakes me up, then i go back to sleep quickly as opposed to lying in bed awake for the next 2 hours because my brain now thinks its the morning

I find it really hard to sleep. There's always something on my mind

The first decent bit of sleep I had was three weeks ago. I had my wisdom teeth taken out, and the general anaesthetic made me really sleepy for a couple of days. But it's been awful since then - every other day I find I can't sleep during the night, and end up feeling awful.

I'm not sure whether to laugh or feel sorry for you. Sounds funny though
Takes me forever to fall asleep too, I find music helps me sleep though.

I find it hard to fall asleep. I'm usually thinking or worrying about something. Then when I wake up, I feel like sleeping still, no matter how little or how much sleep I get. I could happily sleep for 15+ hours a night.

When I was younger I used to sleep walk and talk and kick around a lot, but I don't do any of those anymore.

Pretty well now, although that's not always been the case, especially at uni where I had real trouble getting to sleep in halls (first house was brilliant, though).

I average about 6-7 hours sleep, bed at 23:00, wake up at 05:00-06:00. I go to bed listening to www.rainymood.com - the most relaxing site ever, especially in summer (which I hate for it's abject lack of rain, wind and all things awesome )

I move a lot in my sleep, not to the extent of sleep walking but I can revolve in my bed so I am upside down in the morning. Was more of hassle as a kid when our parents would make us bunk up when family was visiting, nowadays it is only bad when I fall asleep on the bed with friends when we are up watching movies.

Has anyone else found it really hard to sleep in this weather recently? Last night I got two hours sleep from 5 to 7. I didn't feel tired all the rest of the night just restless. The night before I got about 4 hours. Right now, I don't feel the slightest bit tired again, just hot.

I love sleeping, always want more of it. I can never do it at sensible times though, and getting myself up in the morning feeling refreshed is something I've never learned how to do, no matter how much sleep I get.

I lucid dream now, after not having a good sleep for a long time. I'll wake up well over 20 times a night and have mini-dreams that last a few minutes. Especially around 5:00+ That's when the lucid dreams kick in. I'll have about 10 mini-dreams then wake up remembering them in detail. It's not good at all.

I usually struggle to fall asleep, when im nervous or worried about something, and if its really bad then i'll regularly wake up in the night, but if there is nothing particularly concerning me im an easy sleeper! Im good at waking up, I usually wake up before my alarm clock.
