Just watching this recent Panorama programme about the upcoming Euro 2012 tournament held in Poland and Ukraine.

Nazi salutes and calls appear to be commonplace and targeting non-White fans with violence and jeering of black football player is also happening.

This happening in Europe in 2012?

"Ex-England player Sol Campbell told the BBC's Panorama that Poland and Ukraine should not host the event because of entrenched racism and violence." He also advised ethnic minority fans to stay at home and the matches from there.

It seems like they use the sport as an excuse to air their racist views.

I concur, they had a similar story about Germany in 2006 but everything was fine.

I don't know why they are doing nazi salutes 'cause if my memory serves me didn't hitler hate all slavic nations and thus based his expansionist ideas eastwards?

I don't think you are right to say that.
Racism is albeit sadly present in British football, look at the John Terry incident for example.
And go on youtube and you can see plenty of fights at British football matches perhaps they are worse but we arn't much better and if it wasn't for the policing we have would we be much better?

Not a surprise, all these countries are backward countries. My friend lived in hungary for a year and he said countless non-white people were attacked for no reason. Especially outside clubs.

I don't usually care for these sorts of things but I was quite shocked. I've always just assumed all of Europe was a happy -or similar to Britain.

I felt quite sick seeing the assault of them lads, simply watching a game of football...

This sort of stuff makes me quite sick tbh.

Hitler believed that the Slavic people had intermarried/breeded with the Jewish population so much so that they should no longer be considered Aryan. However he did still believe there were people who could be considered Germanic living there. In Poland alone there were estimates of thousands of children who were considered to be Germanic, taken from there homes and raised in Germany (many of whom would have grown old by now never knowing what happened). Hitler's and the Nazi's anger towards the Slavic people was intensified by the strong resistance they faced in these countries.
Its clearly still retarded, for so many Polish people to give Nazi salutes when you consider what they done to that country, but I thought I would give you the back story as I've seen a few people ask the same thing.

I'm not really shocked, given that the Ukraine government doesn't clamp down on racism like the British (and Western Europe) governments do, but imo Ukraine should never have got this torunament for many reasons and Russia really should never ever have got the World Cup given the striking proportion of Neo Nazis in their country. I know it's not logical to generalise and prob many reasons for it but you can't deny or ignore the fact that Russia and infact Ukraine has a facism/racism problem (i'm not saying every Russian/Ukraine citizen OK, that would be unfair) that if not sorted out between now and 2018 (unlikely) could result in pre-world cup warnings and apprehension like that seen with Ukraine and Sol Campbell and Theo Walcott. No-one wants to see a repeat of the attacks on Asian students in Ukraine.
