    What is the best instrument to use in a song?
    personally i would choose a violin as it can be used in many different genres

    Piano fits into just about any genre, so overall I would choose piano. However in some genres, different instruments work better in the music than the piano, so it really depends what the style is.

    I don't think there's a single best instrument to use in a song. However, I'm fond of the use of a violin, saxophone, or harp in a song.

    cello, apparently closest to the female human voice in timbre of all the classical orchestral instruments

    Either guitars or pianos. I'd say they're the most versatile instruments.
