Exfoliating/body brushing for back and arm acne?
Although my face is clear I have a problem with acne on my arms, neck and back. My worst affected areas are my shoulders, which are covered with old acne scars (bad habit of picking at them). It just looks a mess.
I only ever wear 100% cotton shirts (no synthetics), and wash and moisturize using gentle fragrance free products. I'm wondering whether or not body brushing or using a loofah during the shower would help? There seems to be a bit of a debate about exfoliation (whether its truly necessary or not?), but I feel particularly on my shoulders the skin is not smooth enough which might be causing bacteria build-up in the flakes and pitted scars.
Is using a body brush a good idea, if so how often should you do it (once a week, every other day?). Also how do you keep the brush or loofah clean/sanitize it?
