    No it won't.

    No they don't.
I thought you were a bit of a Scots nationalist, Arcadia?

omg don't kid yourself it will happen, we should be preparing for it!

    My assertions are completely true!
I'm Scottish and I, like many others, want the UK to remain intact. Your assertions are not true; there is a lot of debate over the independence referendum.

I highly doubt Scotland will become independant. Most Scottish people don't want it to happen only like 15-20% do.

If we wanted to start doing the snp's job for them, this'd be the way to do it. What proportion of the gb athletes are scottish anyway?

Re: Should we remove support from Scottish oplympic athletes
Okay first off as a Scotsman myself I can tell you that it's in no way decided that we will be an independent nation soon. Even with all the facts and quoting mining going on (on both sides of the pro-independence and pro-union arguments).

Now their has been big blow-ups in the past about the Scottish (and welsh and N.I for that matter) treatment in sporting events. Thing such as the old "He's won it for Britain/Lost it for Scotland", less funding on top level athletes, less funding on average per child and the list goes on.

The point though is at the current time, Scotland and England are still part of a union. So personally I think you should all support us as we support you. I mean the real question you should look at is wither or not Scottish (and the welsh) give you a good return for medals based on population size.
i.e Does Scotland account for more or less than 10% of british medals (since Scotland has 10% of the British population roughly).

As we all know the Scotland will soon become independent nation. Most people in scotland want it, so why should the rest of the UK support these people? You here people saying i'm proud to be bristish and yet want to be independent nation.

Will you be supporting scottish athletes?
Withdraw support from your own athletes? What is the point in that?

Most of the Scots I know don't particularly mind whether Scotland gets independence or not, and those that do care say they don't want it!

But until it happens, no, we shouldn't stop funding them
